I recently stoped playing WoW...simply got bored of the same thing for 3years... well anyway, I really wana try WAR out before i buy it.

Does anyone know where i can get like a 10day trial or something? Purhaps someone can give me one? It would be greatly appreciated. :p

Realy? Thas stupid... now i gota buy this game just to try it out? :(

Anyone know where I can download this trial locally? My cap has, unfortunately, run out :P

There is a trial. Local download, I'm not so sure. I dont think so; from what I know war updates it's client, so you can't download single patches. Not 100% sure tho.

obviously WAR has a starting game, before patches and add ons, where can i get the game? i don't want to do a 10GB download.

Dude, Warhammer now have an -unlimited- free trial. You can play the entire Tier 1 for free!

http://www.warhammeronline.com/trial/

Plus i believe they also made it so the trial download is not actually the entire game, almost like Guildwars where it streams the content "as you get to it"

What does "Endless" mean?
Endless means that your trial account does not expire. You have no time limitation and may play within the restrictions of the Endless Trial as long as you like for free.

What are the restrictions on the Endless Trial?

* Endless Trial accounts are restricted to Tier 1 of the Empire versus Chaos pairing. This includes Tier 1 scenarios but does not include access to the Capital Cities or the other racial pairings within the game.
* Endless Trial accounts may receive mail and purchase from the auction house; however, they cannot send mail or create auctions.
* Endless Trial accounts are limited to designated servers. If you'd like to play with friends on other servers, you will need to purchase a retail copy of the game and transfer your character to their server (or create a new character on their server). All characters Rank 11 and under on purchased accounts have access to unlimited transfers, with a max of one transfer per day. Please note that you can only transfer characters to the same server type as the server you created your characters on (Core, Open RvR, and Roleplay). Please see the full server list here for details about each server, including server type. Alternatively, if you have a friend who is currently playing WAR, you can ask them for a Recruit-a-Friend code that will allow you to create a Recruit-a-Friend trial account which has access to all servers. Please see the Recruit-a-Friend section for more information.

So, if I buy the retail copy from take 2, I won't need to update everything right away?

That i can't say, i believe the trial -download- [as on the site] is different than the retail. Chances are good retail copy will update in full, you get full 30 days free if you buy the retail anyway, so there's no reason not to update everything on the retail client.

However the trial client is obviously only tier 1 and will probably only update that part of the game.

So i'd first look into the size of the trial client and see. The trial only came out 2 weeks or so ago, so it's definitely "newer" than the retail box in the shops....so chances are whatever you download from the official site will be more or less updated for tier 1.

On a side note: If you are going to buy the box, why do you want a trial? You will get 30 days with the box purchase...

where can i get the retail gasme from and what are the costs involved? both once off and monthly!

I would suggest simply downloading the unlimited free trial and playing that first...no costs there, but if you want the full game:

The retail box you can buy anywhere, BTGames and Look&Listen got them. The price should be pretty cheap now, R179 at BTGames:

(The box obviously includes 30 days free)

Monthly sub is same as WoW, $15 p/month or so. BTGames also sell the gamecard , 60 days for R279 .

Although i think if you pay directly you might get it cheaper based on the R/$. I believe i paid R120 for my Fallen Earth sub [also $15] .
