I rerolled on medium pop server cause its no fun on empty server and since they doubled the amount of people a server can take theres VERY few high pop servers.

Think most people are busy with Red Alert 3,Fallout 3(wich i am playing atm)
Farcry 2(wich i got still have to try) & i think alot whent back to wow to see the changes in new patch.

O well i am still enjoying the game alot but taking time out for Fallout 3.
Just hope Warhammer population dont run dead would be damn shame great game.

I also checked out EVE online not bad game but it will take months to get the BIG guns if not years.Since i was on leave last week.

Seem like big plans from Mythic in december and well get free char tranfer to ANY server soon you can do it yourself in next patch.

Could be people like me that just decided not to renew their subs. Its a solid gaming experience, but I sort of feel that I can compete against other people for free in fps games. Why should I pay a monthly sub for that?

Anyways just my 2c.

I thought the same...

T3-T4 is booming with constant activity!

EA's recent announcement of their sales figures showed
1.2 million copies sold
800K active subscriptions

This may be somewhat out of date though.

I think the week or so after launch, when they added/cloned all the extra servers, caused the situation where, after the 30 days were up and some people didn't subscribe, many of those new servers began emptying out. The fact that Mythic is offering free transfers from low to med pop servers reinforces that.

Most of those who didn't subscribe were probably also mucking around in T1. Those who liked WAR were probably in t2, t3+. This gives the impression that a server is empty because T1 is a ghost town, while t2+ might be quiet active.
Unfortunately the way the game is built, the tiers are largely 'seperate' and you don't generally find level 30's running around the starting zones.

I think that there probably will, also, be a bit of a dry spell with a ton of AAA single player games out over the holiday season as well as the WoW expansion. It's quite likely in fact.

On the flip side, there will be a lot of people buying WAR for themselves or for loved ones, for Christmas.

But, I think, after a while pop will level out, maybe slowly grow, once the holiday season is over and people start looking towards a steady gaming commitment. Call it a hunch. WAR isn't 'more of the same', and yet isn't radically different either. People wanting to try a different yet comfortable MMO experience are, eventually, going to gravitate towards it.

Think i was just unlucky on my server but it seems abandoned i was like the only person in altdorf. Will transfer all my characters to other server were i started my wariorpriest things seem very ative had 12 people in the very first PQ.

And the increase in server size makes it look even more empty.

You should try Fallout 3(RPG with alot of shooting) dude.
Even Farcry 2.But my all time favourite shooter in online gaming stays Team Fortress 2.

But shooters can only keep me buy for 2-3 hours thats it then i want something else. And car games keep me busy for hour at most.

Maybe I'm being unreasonable, the full story is I put my WoW account on ice beginning of Jan waiting for this game. None of my friends jumped ship. Maybe I just miss WoW. God damn mmos once you start, you can't stop :D

Theres nothing like having the multiplayer monkey on your back ;)

Give it time. This game is going to need months, maybe even a year or so, to iron out all the kinks. I'd say if you're not willing to play it in it's current incarnation, shelve it and wait for 1.1 patch in December. Or even till they patch in the extra melee classes. Around Feb, March, the PC dry-spell arrives and it's nice to have a good MMO to keep you busy till around June-ish.
Mythic is going to need some time to consolidate servers now that the initial hype is over and, they're going to need time to fix a myriad of small bugs, and they're going to need time to bring the level of content up to scratch. I mean, the game is fantastic, out of the gates - it's no AoC. But it's no WoW either. Not yet...
Personally, I'm still having a ton of fun in it. I don't forsee myself stopping my sub for anything. For me, it's great, and I think it's only going to get better.

Only major thing i have against Mythic is fps lag in big battles you feel it hard heard the same even from people in EU sitting with 50ms lattency my friend visited me this past weekend and inside mourkain temple scenario he gets major fps lag from time to time i get it too but not that bad saw his picture slide show lag.And the funny thing is hes pc is almost top end latest ATI card on the market with quad core and 2 gig ram.

I am sitting with mid range pc 8800gts with core 2 duo and 2 gig gaming ram still get lag but not as bad as he does think it could be cause of ATI card.

I love the game as it is but think they should fix preformance issues before they add new stuff this could be game breaking adding new classes is not gone fix it.I told them about it and was told they are aware of it and are looking into it wonder if its true?

Game like this just should not have fps problems on these kind of machines.
They are gone lose more poeple cause of this that what theyll lose coming WOTLK.

Had the same issue. I don't know about ati, but there's some small nvidia control panel tweaks that help a lot (negative lod bias set to 'clamp', texture filtering set to 'performance', more here). Also, disable lightmaps and specular highlighting ingame. Sometimes sound cards can cause a problem too, try switching your sound off completely in the game settings and see if it makes a difference.
However ,the game is more CPU than graphics card reliant, if you have even a 8800GT or so it should run fine with everything maxed out. Therefore, most importantly, make DAMN sure you install AMD's CPU driver from their site if you have an AMD rig, i've got the link in my blog (skurm.wordpress.com), it made a huge, huge difference for me. Also make sure latest motherboard/chipset drivers are installed. I don't think the game handles AMD processors very well by default. The driver helps a ton.

Nah, you're in the wrong area. Altdorf is a horrible place to be standing in, because
a] You can't queue for scenarios and
b] It's not exactly a frame rate friendly area.

The only place that is good is the Guild area [your guild needs to be lvl 6ish], where you got everything in one tiny room, including a flightmasters and scrolls teleporting you there etc.

Here's how you find the population on any server:

1] Assume everyone is playing Scenarios from T2+ [yes they are]
2] Figure out the most popular scenario in a tier [Nordenwatch,Morkaine,Tor Anroc etc]
3] Find the warcamp area this scenario is located in [Tor Anroc is in Avelon [High/Dark Elves]

The main reason is the repeatable quest [yes, this is a hint] . There's 2 repeatable quests in each warcamp relating to a scenario. For example in Avelon the quests there you get 3.2k XP just for -doing- Tor Anroc and another 2.8k for killing 15 players [which almost always happen in one scenario] . So that's 6k xp on top of your scenario xp EVERYTIME [assuming you took the quests]...even if you loose!

On T2, Morkaine Temple is located in Barak Var [Dwarf/Greenskin zone], you'll see some RvR action quite often between Marshes and Var due to this.

If you want RvR, this is also where you should be, the players tend to be a little lazy and slow to do RvR, but they do seem to get together once they notice enough action in the zone....they are standing in the warcamp afterall.

This is also why certain RvR zones are exclusively controlled by certain factions [Avelon is almost -always- Order controlled...guess what they do while waiting for scenarios].

Why's everyone saying Fallout 3 is a shooter? Yes, sure you CAN shoot things, but you don't -need- to. Just the fact that i can "pause" [neverwinter nights style] mid combat, and decide how i want to kill the mob , tells me this is not a shooter. Either way, my current char specialise in Speech,Lockpicking and Melee weapons...guess how much shooting i'm doing? Half the time i'm -talking- myself out of things.

It's like saying Oblivion is a shooter.....the engine is almost identical, except instead of bows and magic spells you got guns...

No these days were both Intel fans evenmy friend is and he was a major AMD fanboy had endless aguments about INTEL vs AMD.
I got Intel core 2 duo 3ghz and hes got aintel quad core 2.2ghz.
Anyways back on topic.Think ill turn down my setting test see if its shadows or whatever slowing me down. But really this games engine is 3 years old should not be like this.

I dont think its sound related i tested eve online and that MMO actually crashes on certain sound cards mostly realtek onces.

Heres a few thing that makes this problem a bit better but just read it i am not the only one with mid/high spec machine that lags in warhammer.

Well Warhammer is a resource hog, even without 30+ players in your vacinity this game is not exactly performing. I mean just do the alt-tab thing or exit the game..how long does that take? I play games with faaar superior graphics [Age of Conan , heck even the recent Fallout 3] and they're not this bad on my system.

So while drivers can help, i still think Mythic got some performance coding to do regardless.

Fallout 3 not hectic on any system heard people play it on pretty low systems but yes warhammer has few preformance problems on my system its not that bad lowest drop is 40fps from 95 using fraps but my friends pc suffers more and its faster pc than mine hes scenarios look like picture slide show. .
Not like Warhammers got Crysis or Farcry kinda gfx and both these games run on high setting smooth on both our pcs.

I posted in other topic what you can do to better this.
