Wow, ok theres alot of minor fail :p sry but
Afflication is way better than destruction for rogues , namely because of insta howl, and CoEx !
Destruction is infamous for having a hard time against rogues. Destruction sux for pvp arena or Bgs period :P
Destruction is only viable for end game raiding, DS SnF which is one point short of shadow nova, hence shadownova is useless.
Affliction is the best for leveling/grinding/Low end raiding because there is no down time(as mentioned) However dots fail to scale alot with T6, making afflication useless at end game ( THis should be fixed in wrath, WooT!)
And as i have said many many times, never,ever raid with demology, even if u lack gear,failfailfail
 
I agree with everything you said Murdoc just not the point regarding raiding with Demo. In my current guild we had a Lock raid with the Felguard in T5 content and he still easily topped meters. It is doable.
 
Ok soz i know this is a Warlock threat but i was wondering since i lvl my priest as shadow but i am going healing end game.

But i just wanted to know how close to shadow priest get to warlock dps since i see shadow priest gives warlock dps major boost
or are they just mana batries?

Well i cant see that a sp priest will ever top dps meters but then again i am lvl 54.
 
No, at the moment past Kara level you won't be topping the meters.
We have a few scaling issues at the moment and no AoE abilities which gimps us a lot in later encounters.
 
Got lvl 42 last night, and with that is got the very OP abillity of Death Coil :D

Lvl'ng is now going to be a walk in the park :D
 
While the combined awesome of Dark Pact and Siphon Life makes affliction levelling ezmode with zero downtime, I'm one level away from Felguard and am going to spec it when I ding for one reason.

It's really, really cool looking.

Being a bit of a threat to any potential alliance chops who might consider a quick free HK is merely an added bonus. I'll take the downtime and somewhat slower levelling on the chin so that I can pretend to be a hunter and /afk my way to 70.

I know it's very tempting to go for the felgaurd as you hit 50 but you should wait until lvl 52 at least before taking him. He only gets intercept at 52 and that for me is one of his defining talents... Rogue jumps you while felly is cleaving away at mobs, no worries, just intercept rogue and fear/dc/run away while he's getting beaten on while stunned :)
 
OK, i know this is a massive bump, but seeing as we have a thread for this already i thought i might as well post in it..

here is the thing. I have a 33 lock at the moment, and im looking for some advice on how to level. What pet should i currently be using? And what spells should i use to kill? My dots dont last long enough to kill the dude, so i cant really take on more then 1 or 2 at a time.

Im affliction specced.
 
Go demonology for leveling, it's like having you own tank.

I use my Void 90% of the time

I send it in to tank a group, dot as many as I can and then once I get aggro I fear the one on me. Life tap to get my Mana up again, Drain life to get health back and then reapply dots.

I can take out a mob of 4 at a time.

and stay full health and just about full mana.

Trick is to apply all your dots, maybe an Imoculate or what ever and a searing pain. Once you have done that life tap about 4 or 5 times. You should now have all your mana back. Then just Drain life till you have full health again and repeat.

It takes pratice but once you get it right it's seriously IMBA !

Syphen Life you get at 40 I think. This helps alot !

I beg to differ, but that is my personal view on it. I'm only lvl 44 now so I can't say much :p. I do know that I can solo 4 mobs at once and move on to the next group directly after. No down time what so ever ;)
 
Siphon life is at 30. I use it all the time :P

My voidy seems useless though..he holds fk all aggro. Thanks for the advice though. i guess i am kind of on the right path. Its just when i take on more then 2 or 3 mobs at a time i end up walking away from it with pretty low resources

@Crowley reason im not going demonology is because i just leveled a huntard, so im kind of bored with the "send in pet /afk" leveling vibe :p

Just check on your next lvl at the Warlock pet trainer. I also had a dead spot around those lvl's and think it lasted till about 38. By then your Void gets the next lvl taunts and so forth.

Like mentioned I also had that dead spot in the lvl 30's but since I got to lvl 40 it has been smooth sailing and I can only see it getting better.

My lock is now starting to feel OP. I haven't experienced it at such a degree than at the moment. My Pet now is more a companion than a tank tbh. I'm slowly moving away from the void to the Succubus of which I thought was useless till now.

But Like I said, I'm also not a pro on Locks..... Mary Jane gave me awesome advise :) And I'm having a great time. I have been messing around to much in the lvl 30's bracket cos I felt under powered and kept dying. (This is the spot I think your in now) But just push through. Once you hit lvl 40 it gets alot better..... and you get Death Coil at lvl 42.... once you have Death coil your a damn machine :D
 
OK cool, shot for the advice :) I really battled on levels 28-30..it was pure hell. I will just push through then until lvl 40 :)

Last night I saw an Eppic recipe on AH for a robe..... only 71g :eek: I bought it off the AH in a flash. Learned it, and then thought "Now I'm going to make a killing selling these (My tailoring is 300) And I advertise on trade Ur mats 10g fee. I get a /w from some guy "Mate, that is a BOP item" I thought "FK FK FK FK FK"

and it gets even worse.

It's a Priest robe /cry !

Im so slack with my profs, you have no idea. I think my tailoring is on 170, and my enchanting is about 80.

Ill keep quite about the rest of my chars...

I leveld affliction using my voidwalker. No other pet. Did first instance at lvl 61 in Outland :)

Use as many dots as i had available. When I got to lvl 60, i respeced demonology with felgaurd and leveled to 70 that way. I found the felgaurd at level 50 or so was useless. Changed to destro at lvl 70 when had +1k dmg and and about 15% crit. Should probably have waited for more crit rating. Make sure you are in the same group as boomkin :)

Use curse of elements as soon as you get it. Curse of agony takes a long time and does more of its damage at the end, by which time the mob is dead, so its not the most effecient.

With destro, i dont even bother with corruption. Curse of elements, fire dot, 2 or 3 shadow bolts. dead mob. The fire dot has an upfront dmg and its shorter duration means it gets used to max potential. Also gets buffed by Curse of elements
 
Major Bump:D

Ok, so i've started again to lvl my lock. I'm at lvl 50, but quite frankly dont really know how I got there, as this was one of my very first char's and then became my banky while playing my Hunter.

Can someone give me some advise as to talent spec, macro's and the likes please.

Sorry i can't post an armory link as i'm at work ATM, but my char name is "HustlerXalt" on Quel'Thalas.

Appreciate the help.
