Warlock Thread

Major Bump:D

Ok, so i've started again to lvl my lock. I'm at lvl 50, but quite frankly dont really know how I got there, as this was one of my very first char's and then became my banky while playing my Hunter.

Can someone give me some advise as to talent spec, macro's and the likes please.

Sorry i can't post an armory link as i'm at work ATM, but my char name is "HustlerXalt" on Quel'Thalas.

Appreciate the help.

Miss covered most of the basics I guess.

It's all about your playing style. I found full affliction to be AWESOME. Since I maxed out most of the tallents I use I'm building a little on destruction now. Improved SB and so forth.

I'm loving every moment of it. Cureently now I'm at a point again with all the outlands gear where my void can't tank no more due to the damage I do. Dropped void get out IMP and having a blast. The Dredsteed quest gave me a kick in the nuts and got me sick of WoW again. It will prob get better after a while but that quest is fk'ng nasty and broke my spirit

Thanks for the replay Pitbull, I think I may respec to Affliction. I must say though, that i really hate doing the Warlock quests. They just seem to be such a DRAG.

Trust me... pre TBC, the epic hunter quest was the worst !!!
Was labeled as one of the hardest quests in game.

Had to get a leaf that started the quest string from a chest at major domo (second last boss in MC), then you had to kill 4 demons with NO help from your pet... no heals from any healer, and NO help from anyone else in the game. If you had your pet attacking, or someone interfered, the demon would despawn for 3 hours. Then later on you had to kill Onyxia for the dragon sinew for the epic bow string, and get another piece of dragon sinew for the quiver. Took me a total of 3 months to complete the quest string and around 1000 gold in pots alone. Horrible stuff. Trust me you locks have it easy hehehe :D

Wait for the Dredsteed quest.

It took one whole day and I mean whole day 12 hours straight just to complete the first 1/2. Then you are sent to go Kill a traitor for the Demon boss. Once done you have to buy dust for 150g from an NPC.

Now you have everything you need and then need to go to Scholo and then DM to go summon the Horse. This whole quest chain costs about 300g and prob close to 24 hours of play time

@Pornolio... yeah, I believe the Hunter epic quest was a bi@tch to do. BTW, have you had your operation yet?

@Pitbull... man you making me worry about that quest. I now understand why I see so many lock's that dont have a Dredsteed.

Heya DJ :p Naaah, I wish the time would come now.

Doc only wants to operate once all the cut wounds on the shoulder surface area have healed up. The glass from the sunroof chewed me up a bit. Sitting with a off arm in a sling is frustrating beyond words.

The last visit beginning of this week, he said 3 weeks. So yea, I have to sit with a off shoulder for another 2 weeks in a sling before we can do the operation. At least all the stitches on my head is out now...have a lovely Jerry Springer haircut from where they shaved my head for the stitches hehe. ;)

Post the pics on here? :) I want to see the carnage as well....

Im getting worried for the dreadsteed quest now as well..sitting on lvl 57 its looming..

any locks on Twilight's Hammer can ask me for help with their dreadsteed quests.

My locks name is: Killymon

I got all the mats so you don't need to buy them. I know how soul crushing this quest can be so just give me a shout ;)

cool thread - will read thoroughly tonight, stuck @ work

For leveling and pre-T4 gear that is pretty useless. Destro is only viable past a certain gear level but yeah once you go Destro it is pretty much 2 buttons. Curse + Shadowbolt.

my gear is a mix of SSC. MH, T4, badge gear. Currently demo spec. I am trying out the chaos bolt, which is my opening move when soloing. In 5man instances, i start with CoE, corruption, immolate, and then try and get the conflagrate off at the right time. If the mob gets my shadow bolt debuff, then i will spam shadow bolts, otherwise its mainly fire spells as the immolate debuff enhances that dmg. While, yes you can spam 1 or 2 buttons, if you watch your buffs and your targets debuff's carefully you cast the correct spell, you can significantly increase your dps. When i'm slacking and spammng shadow bolts, im 3rd on the dps list. If its a bear tank, then im 4th :) When i select the spells based on debuffs on target im top or 2nd

I dont use CoA, becuase most of its dmg is at the end of its time and the mob is usually dead long before that. Mobs barely last the duration of my corruption spell, and i cast it mainly to proc the glyph of corruption to get an instant shadow bolt.

CoE is now a redundant abillity after patch 3.0.2

it is ? why is that ?

I read it on a thread regarding the patches. Will have to search for it again now. It has to do with the Proc rate on something else and what not. Which makes the cast of one thing better than CoE.

I'll find the discussion quick and post it
