I just saw this as the first photo on a Gumtree advert:

camera lens.JPG

How about a vote:
1) The photographer thinks his fingerprint adds collector's value to this lens
2) He's selling the camera because he cannot see too clearly anymore
3) He's selling the camera because he hates how the photos keep getting blurrier over time.

4) He borrowed the camera from "a friend" and is selling it on behalf of "said friend" (100% commision fee to be applied)

For a second there it looked like mould which I have seen manifest inside DSLR lenses. Cleaning is usually quite pricey as well.

But in this case it's definitely fingerprints and I'm guessing the seller just doesn't worry too much about advertising :)

Yup. I've been looking at a lot of Gumtree and OLX DSLR adverts, and the weird and wonderful range of equipment there has made me seriously consider just holding on for new. I'm still holding thumbs for a good deal, but in the meantime I had to share the find above :D

Bought a Nikon D5100 with 18-55mm VR and 55-300mm VR for R2800. Less than 2k shutter.
