Warning of second increase in VAT

Any chance should it happen that it would not be a full point increase (15->16) which would equate to 6,67% increase ?
 
Is this because SARS is having difficulty in reaching their tax collection targets or because government killed the economy?

A bit more complicated than this, but yes, essentially it all boils down to this. Unfortunately, they do not have any other options left either. They can try to prevent the increase over the next year, but if they still want to continue paying grants, they would have to increase VAT by then.

I have never quite understood why being a politician is an excuse to behave in a certain way.

Their organisations are a business like any business, like a corporate it is structured, indicating relationships and relative rank. They market and sell a service like any business and so on, customer service is essential. The thing is, what does set them apart are in addition to driving a policy, they also have to design and develop said policy, and I’m being very layman here.

As businessmen and businesswomen, they must be more responsible and accountable.
 
18% anything under it is cheap.

I know everyone saying it not gonna happen but let’s watch.. people aren’t realizing how bad things are.

In terms of the ANC holding onto power, it is total suicide for them to screw with baseline taxes that affect everyone...
