Warning: Stocks Will Collapse by 50%

Ok where can I park some dough, just in case?

I am getting some moolah soon and was thinking about the stock market (unit trusts etc).
Maybe just dump it in my mortgage bond.
TIME that's the most important aspect when deciding what to do with money. Think about it, would you handle a 1 Million Rand investment differently if you had to invest for 40years vs 4years?

Wish I had a million, but in any case I think my bond is the safest. No risk, no commissions, no tax.

For small short term "windfalls" your bond is the best favour you can do for yourself and your family.

I'd be more worried about Zim style hyper-inflation (triggered by EFF land grabs) eroding the value of my investments than large fluctuations on the local stock market.

I view these sorts of articles in the same light as the "one weird trick" adverts. These are the sorts of things where people predict 48 out of the preview 1 stock market collapse(s).

The South African market has been going up and up for years now....
But even if it crashes, I'm staying put.
Ya gotta think looooong term.

The ALSI P/E ratio is quite high, but not something to /really/ worry about; losing out on two years of growth isn't the end of the world.
