Hi

At the end of each month I enquire how bandwidth I have left, and then download as much as possible up to my cap.

I did this in November last year, as usual. Towards the end of December I got cut off for exceeding my bandwidth allocation AND credit.

After exhaustive followups (20+ phone calls and 10+ emails) I discovered that, like all its other systems, Sentech's logging system is screwed up.

It turns out that I connected on 29 November and disconnected on 2 December (amazing that my connection stayed up for so long). Sentech's billing system is unable to differentiate between my usage prior to the end of November and that in December. Since I disconnected in December, it took all the bandwidth used and allocated it to December - giving me an excess usage bill of R1600.

29 days later, I am still waiting for someone at Sentech to sort this out.

To avoid this problem, make sure that you disconnect at the end of each month, or cancel your sentech contract :-)

Regards
Brendon

Thanks for this information.

Shame as Sentech sounded the best option for me after coming up best in that research poll or whatever.

But this has put me off - I will definately look at the competition again.

Thanks Brendon.

Matt

P.S.
Regarding your refund - and to quote Winston Churchill - Never, Never, Never give up !

What contract are you on?

That's interesting news and would explain why I've had irregularities between my own logging and sentech's logging.

I was under the impression that IBurst works in the same way though. Hence ?Ekhaatvensters? warning/suggesting you log off your iBurst on the last day of the month? Can anyone confirm?
