Warping toll road shock

And on the N1 South next to Waterkloof Hoërskool there are these few thin long potholes on the left side of the second outside lane... Its been there a few months and they havent attempted to fix. Once the rains comes...

Obviously a dodgy tender contractor - every tender has a maintenance contract and this should be covered by the contractor - ANC wants to deal out back-handed contracts to buddies with no experience so let the contractor re-fix his stuff-up.
ANC - ANOTHER NEGOTIATING CRIMINAL!!!!

^ This.

STRIIIIKE.

All we need is 2000 vehicles (200 vehicles blocking the 10 major off-ramps for one day a week, for a month or so)

You guys have no idea do you? LOL
WBHO is not some small time contractor with no experience. They were one of the main JV partners on King Shaka International Airport as well.

And before everyone just jumps on the blame the contractor game, wait for all the facts. A poor design by a consultant , or shortcut Geotechnical report on existing ground conditions and movements can also cause major hassles. Even if a contractor follows construction procedures to the Design.

I do not know where the blame lies, but there could be a number of reasons all with responsibility sitting on a different role player.

Think before you make statements.

When we had to pay R20billion for this circus and now we have to pay the 40c a km toll fee AND we'll have to shoulder the cost increases that will certainly result from this we can make all the statements we like thank very much.

Instead of your typical ANC bashing rampage, why not wait to see what the report finds. You clearly don't know what you're talking about anyway.

This is a very unusual deformation in the road surface built by one of the best contractors in the country. WBHO have built some of the largest buildings in the country and have a legacy spanning back to the late 60's.

There were major problems with road designs in Cape Town during the 60's and 70's which to this day have not been rectified, but I'd bet you'd probably blame the ANC for that as well.

So the truth no longer matters? You can say what you want because you are a taxpayer?
I just said think before you make statemenets, and clearly you did not. There are a few others here as well.

Yes I am also angry this has happened, I also am a taxpayer contributing around 38 % of my salary to the taxman. This road is a disaster, and is money wasted. But I dont know WHY yet so I want to see where the fault lies before I go and make false accusations against a very well established construction company. I dont even work for them, and they are competition to us, but there is this thing called fairness in life.

Truth matters yes, but outrage needs to be expressed. Especially after this project was steamrolled through with seeming no regard for the taxpayers or the public.

If this company is proven innocent we'll focus our attention on the real culprit. But the question remains how a very well established construction company would proclaim its work done when its obviously proving to be a disaster. I confess I don't understand the intricacies of road construction but when my steak is burnt I blame the chef. Sure it might be the stove builders error but the chef took his cut and kept his mouth shut it seems. And guess who'll pay for the new meal.
