Warranties for overseas laptops

Is the prize and courier worth to buy it there.

2 persons I know, had guarantees [ 1 year on site ] with the stuff. Had problems and fix it themselves.

If I bought a laptop from Amazon in the UK, would I still have full warranty cover in SA?

I know this obviously differs from brand to brand, so which ones are the best in this regard?
It depends on the brand - speaking from experience all apple laptops come with worldwide warranties which are honoured locally.

Some Lenovo machines also come with an international warranty - generally the business-orientated models - so that's another one to keep in mind.

@Robert
What? Sorry, I can't understand what you're saying...

Apple is a bit out of my price range. I'll have a look at Lenovo, but they tend to be a bit more expensive than their counterparts. What about HP, Asus, Samsung?

Listen, it's quite simple really. If the laptop comes with an international warranty, you're sorted, if not, avoid it as if something goes wrong, shipping fees this way and that, will probably be a rather large portion of the laptop's total worth, making repairs pretty much pointless.
An international warranty is an international warranty. Just use Google or contact the manufacturers to find out whether the specific models you are interested in carry said international warranty.

Lenovo is expensive yes, but I can tell you for a fact that with that price you guarenteed to have a really solid machine.
