I haven't played for a while with my warrior. He is level 50 now. Last night I logged in and did a random dungeon. My dps really sucked. I respeced from fury to arms to see if there would be an improvement - but no luck. His dps was still very low compared to the other party members, which were all the same level as me. Can anyone give me advice regarding which spec is best for warrior dps, what glyps I should have and rotation? I will later on dualspec and go into tanking, but for now I only want advice on the dps side please. :)

get your "rotation" 100% correct and time it 100%
Sure them warriors on her can helps you
I heard leveling as protection is fastes

Heya, i'd suggest starting off by taking a look at this Warrior FAQ.
Secondly, remember that your weapon is the single most important item to increase your dps, so if you're swinging an old tree trunk then your DPS will suffer.

At that level i'd go with Arms.
Look for a 2 handed weapon with a slow swing time (3.5-3.7) which should typically have the highest "top end damage", not DPS, but Damage. Polearms / Axes > all.

When faced with a group of mobs in an instance, rend each mob quickly then Sweeping Strikes & Bladestorm (once you have it), otherwise MS [Mortal Strike] the Skull, Overpower when it's up and if not, spam slam or Cleave if your rage allows - but try to hit each mob atleast once (keep switching targets) for Deep Wounds.
Forget about Heroic Strike. If in doubt, Slam. Remember to Rend each mob before anything else. Don't forget to use Sweeping Strikes (lots of DPS). Don't save your Recklessness or trinket cooldowns for a "special occasion", use them every pull or as soon it's ready (unless the mobs you're attacking are already low on HP and you're about to move to the next group) for overall max damage done.

You can use an addon like Quartz to track your rend timers.
Glyph for Rend, Mortal Strike and Execute.

Let me know if you have any more questions about your Warrior and keep us posted.

I found leveling my warrior that Fury was ineffective due to rage starvation :(

Arms ftw! Rotation was smooth, with lots of rage for Cleave/HS

EDIT: Conack beat me to it

What the other guys said...
Get the best weapon you can afford plus best enchantment. Warrior dps is really gear dependent, even with the best rotation you need a good weapon.

Having the heirloom did me wonders leveling my warrior, even though it was only the end of '09! Although around level 65 I lost it and switched to protection to level 24/7 in dungeons with the new LFG system, which rocked btw!

Yeah, get heirlooms. If you cant, dont worry. Dont stress about your dps too much at this level. You dont have enough talents. Just level and use the LFG system. Read elitist jerks and tankspot. You will soon learn the right rotation, timing for your latency etc.

I have just gone back to my warrior as our guild is having problems with tanks. Getting emblems and filling that last spot which cant be filled in raids to get Frost Emblems and gear. I am now on 31k hp. Will start tanking some 5mans this weekend. Heaven help them. :D

I started with 25k... worked my way through the less complicated hc's like Nexus/UK... the mentality of bloody slackers that think hc's can't be tanked with anything below 40k is shocking, the ICC hc's will be you're biggest concern

I also started tanking heroics at 25k, I did fine if the healers didn't leave prematurely. As for the ICC heroics, the LFG system won't let you join them anyways until your gear are good enough for them. Even now with full emblem gear I still find that a stressful instance, but I guess that makes them real fun still.

True...

With an average GS of 226 on my tank alt, I get still kicked from PoS hc groups :erm: Only way to do it is with guildies...

Its not my hp they need to worry about, its that fact that I may be looking for my conflagrate spell :D
