Hi guys,

I feel my warrior is not a good tank I get hit very hard sometimes and the guild is asking me to go for a pally tank the alt I have. We already have a pally tank and every1 is NUTS about them.

Could anyone please give me some advise on what is wrong with warriors or am I gemming/enchanting wrong? I could give my armory link if needed any help will be appreciate. Really negative about warrior tanking at this moment, but I have put so muchhours into him already, to start gearing a pally now feels like a wast

Thanks

Perhaps add at which level of the game you are. Tanking in heroic and Naxx aint the same thing. Tanking in Ulduar and ToC again tanking changes, and especially the same with ICC.

Heroics, really anything goes but you probably want to spec for AoE tanking.
Naxx for me was a mix of gear but spec was relatively straight forward, aim for single target threat spec.
Ulduar...can't say I skipped this whole ordeal.
ToC as far as I can tell, all tanking classes just went nuts on stamina and that was that.
ICC I can tell you now, if you go for stamina only you will go splat after your healers went nuts on healing you. You will need avoidance without slacking on stamina.

That is just if gear is your problem, but the class itself doesn't have any problems in any of the above list, in fact even Blizzard said that all tanking classes are fine.

I love my warrior and he really just works, but so does all the other tanking classes. Palas are just very easy to tank with, but for some reason I still prefer my Warrior, the things and combinations of things I can pull of are just more and essentially I tank better on her because I actually concentrate more.

what i would do is do the simple dungeons not the HC`s farm emblems like there no tomorrow !! then get the uuber gear even if u have to spec into dps for HC`s always doing that works

I wouldn't drop it for a palleh. Sooner or later, I'm guessing sooner, they're going to have the rug pulled out from under them. You don't wanna be around when that happens.

You failed to say where you are taking the hits. Your aim is to survive and make yourself as easy to heal as possible. Having a few gear sets normally works quite well, one with loads of avoidance, one with good amount of stamina, then for the good ol' ICC I noticed many people getting armor up considerably. So you're just needing to get your gear sorted and you'll be smiling again. :)

3.3.3 for warriors
-Revenge damage up 50%.
-Rampage becoming a passive aura
-Vitality to 9% from 6%

That's a chunk of extra damage and threat, and 3% more stam, which is significant (us DK got a mere 2% stam buff compared, and it made a noticeable difference)

Stick with the warrior.

stam stacking all the way, show them ur hp then they will be scared of you and warrs get buffed next patch :P

I've completely dropped Revenge from my rotation... macro'd Devastate + Heroic Strike ftw

Hence the buff to Revenge. Most warrior tanks weren't using it because it was a TPS loss. However, 50% extra damage means 50% extra TPS, and of course extra DPS is nice too, on some fights your tanks' dps can help out quite a bit (saurfang, festergut). Whetherbuffed REvenge works out to be an increase in overall TPS/DPS or not remains to be seen.

Thanks for the tips and motivation guys, I tanked Uldar last night and we did steel(something) where there are basically 3 bosses you tank the main big guy in front and the 2 little once at the back. Firstly I tanked the big boss then I got hit very hard and then the pally tanked steel, but he got hit just as hard and even died, but due to the HP reset to 30% it saved his ass, but the guild took that as Warriors suck and pallies rule. I tanked the 2 adds easily and I could interrupt the caster to move him out of the blue circle.

We are starting ToC 10man tonight to get every1s gear to above 5k to start some ICC runs. I sit at 4.7K GS.

I dont know if I should use the 113dodge trinket iLVL232 or my stamina +120 trinket ilvl200. I have both and switch when I need more dodge. Sitting at 25% dodge and 37k HP.

Should I drop stamina trinket and get the ilvl245 armor trinket? For ToC and ICC ? and switch to stamina trinket in Naxx Uldar and HC runs?

Im on EU saurfang, Alliance, Colosis is my toons name if any1 want to look at the gear or some tips on gear.

The tanking hierarchy right now is

Paladins------------------------------------------------------------>Bears--------------->Warriors->DK's

Thems the breaks.

Tanking the 2 smaller adds of the Iron Council makes a good prot warrior shine :)
Shieldslam dispelling the shield, multiple interrupts and silences, best mobility of any tank class in the game - it's made for a prot warrior. Remember, tanking the BigBadDude is not always the pinnacle of a fight (read: HC Anub adds)

Make sure you go read everything on tankspot.com

@ Paladins: You will never have sunder ;)

No, it's not hate. Just a statement of reality. Besides, jelousy makes people nasty. What i wouldn't give for the ability to bubblehearth on the last boss of an instance...

cause all paladins bubblehearth on last boss. i wish i had a spell reflect and a ranged silence other than my freaking shield. Variety is what makes the classes different.
