I recently seem to have picked up the wart virus somewhere and the third one has now sprung up on my right hand. Bar going to the doctor (which I can only do after Wednesday) is there some effective way to prevent it from spreading even further until I can have it treated?

It's pretty embarrassing because I have to draw attention to it, seeing as I can't shake someone's hand and risk spreading it along to them.

Must be too much fapping, is it hairy as well? :erm:

Is there really a wart virus!!?!? That's scary.

You can get some stuff from a pharmacy (salicylic acid stuff) which you apply and it basically 'burns' them off.
Otherwise see the nurse at a pharmacy and she/he can freeze them.

Don’t know how to stop the spreading, but there is an acidic ointment available at the pharmacy which you can apply daily until it is gone, it really kills the wart.

Someone really took offence at the thread title? Wow. Forum censorship is off the charts.

where are 1 and 2 ?

All three are on my hand. The first one sprung up on my thumb, the second on my index finger and the third appeared today, just below the first one, so number two and three clearly spread through contact with the other warts.

Yeah, apparently it's a virus that enters your bloodstream and apparently it's also highly contagious, hence why I don't shake hands with anyone.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions everyone who responded. I'll drop by the pharmacy and pick up some ointment. I just don't want it spreading further because it's pretty disgusting.

Yes its a virus. Doctor, dry ice> sorted. Any public contact can spread it. Public rest rooms probably the biggest culprits. The tap you use to wash your hands clean.... We be havin' it :D

Duct tape is a quick solution. Really.

I've dug one out with a knife before, you know how deep the roots grow? .....oh and the exorbitant amount of blood that follows. One thing that duct tape can't fix :/

Had a wart on my foot for Seven years - this didnt do a whole lot. Made it smaller, but damaged tissue under my foot because it starved the normal skin too. Perhaps if applied more carefully than I did it might make a difference.

OP just go get them burned off. Hurts for a sec but absolutely worth it - liquid nitrogen is a powerful thing. Managed to get rid of an inch wide planter wart in two sessions. Possibly one of the most satisfying moments of my life peeling that sucker off once and for all.

EDIT: probably depends on the size of the wart. Definitely see a doctor before you do anything rash.

Had mine on my foot, two of them. Left them for a while and went to gp. Was so deep could only be removed by cutting it. Dr did a good job though and took care to remove everything so it doesnt grow back.

The HPV is a very tenacious virus.
It often "hides" from your immune system.
That's why It often recurs despite apparent successful treatment.
