Washing machine waste water

Hey all

I have finally convinced my elderly parents to let me buy them a dishwasher. This however will require me moving the washing machine into the garage, where there is no drainage. The closest drain will be a pipe run of 5+ meters, and with a doorway in-between I don't even know if this will be possible.
So my question is, is it possible to treat wastewater from the washing machine to allow it to run off into the garden?
If possible, can I do it myself and what would I need?
TIA for any suggestions.

On the other side of the garage wall where the washing machine will go is the main line inlet, but yeah, no drainage at that point. Closest drainage is in the kitchen with a doorway inbetween.

So someone needs to install a tap for you still?

Then they can just install drainage to the existing one or just a new one that runs the water outside the wall.

The layout of the house makes this extremely difficult. Doing this will mean digging up and relaying half the garage floor because the outlet would have to be buried. There is no drainage on the other side of the garage wall. I'm trying to see if there isn't an alternate solution.
 
Ask a plumber for a quote. Not free, I know, but you’ll at least get proper advice.

A plumber will make a plan.

Drainage may be more possible/available than you think.

Inside/outside of the garage walls don't have any unobstructed lengths to run surface mount drainage toward the front of the garage where you mention existing drainage is located..?
 
friend off mine use his dirty water. He got a tank next to washing machine outside, lower of course. water of his bath and washing machine goes there. He then pump that water to garden. But it does not smell so nice. His grass is green.
I would fit a wide pipe[eg 75mm] next to the washing machine, as high as possible, then put a 50mm pipe outside to drain.
 
It's not healthy for your or the environment, unless you filter it somehow first. But this is Africa. There are sewer drainage spilled into the roads everywhere. So shouldn't be as bad. Another option is to dig a soakpit. But again, you would want to filter it first.
 
Why would you do that? You will make your garden/ground very alkaline and salty with time. You need a high alkaline or high acidic product to lift up dirt. Even if you buy the bio-degradable stuff, it will break down sure, but you still end up with a alkaline result.

Drain that water rather than poison the environment around you

Can you draw a picture of what you are planning, then we can see whats what... also indicate where all the taps are

Yes, it is possible. Most detergents and fabric softeners are bio degradable, and if you scatter it on the grass it will keep it green. The only issue may be occasional pocket lint on the grass depending on what you put in the machine.
 
Treat it? Why bother? Ours goes straight to the back yard. 50l a load goes a long way to keeping the garden watered.

Also, I'd rather keep the detergent, admittedly it's a small amount, out of the septic tank if I can avoid it.
