Next thing you know they'll be cramming V6's and V8's into the ambulances.......

Oh.... don't you just love when News Journalists add their own "drama" to a news article?

"There are moments in the video clip where a collision seems imminent, with the woman filming the chase screaming in fear."

We were definitely not watching the same clip as this journalist.

The situation would be described as clear skies, sunny with excellent visibility. Low to none traffic. I couldn't see any place in the video that "should have" ended in a collision. They were not making maneuvers around other vehicles.

This journalist have probably not driven in Joburg pre-peak hour traffic. Bumper to bumper driving at high speeds (pre-peak = before the traffic starts slowing down and getting gridlocked)

She was definitely not "screaming in fear", she was to my opinion "shouting in dismay" or "cursing the other driver".

I think people scream in fear when the blue light escort guys drive on top of the vehicle in front of them, flashing lights and intimidating the other innocent drivers.

Agree with the rest... but, you do notice the singular TMPD biker coming past? That means big shower boss is coming. So just move out of the way then already, no "surprised motorist" drama to be had then, but then again most drivers seem to be half asleep as best of times.

Thembi was schap to be the deshkem for evidence.

Guys;

IMO: EMS services like these give the rest of us 'medics' bad names... What was the motivation here to drive like this? Get to the patient first to save their life or get to the accident scene first so you can get the money? And yes, there is money in accidents - if it's not via the medical aid for the patient then it's via the RAF which pays out millions to EMS services.

These EMS services are like tow truckers... it's about getting there first so you can claim stake to the patient and/or the car.

I've been on many scenes where tow truckers basically fight each other for the car... EMS can't really do this - if they do, they can be reported (if not to their HR) then to HPCSA.

I myself am chuffed to work for a proud EMS service where I can treat you to the best of my ability, call for all the help I want and not really worry about the financial implications.

And IMO: Both parties were GUILTY! Safe following distance maybe eh?!!?!

The one is just blaming the other but they both bloody guilty and pathetic.

Wow... The front ambulance was being a real bitch on the road!! Loved the comments made my the woman recording the video...
