NOT SAFE FOR SENSITIVE VIEWERS

CCTV footage has emerged of the moment a man was gunned down in an apparent hit in Johannesburg on Tuesday.

The 59-year-old Ivan Djordjevic was shot several times after driving into his complex in Bryanston around noon.

He was tailgated into the complex by two men in a BMW who opened fire on Djordjevic's Mercedes-Benz. In the footage, Djordjevic leaps out of the vehicle and attempts to flee but is gunned down a few metres away. The two men jump back into the BMW and flee the scene.

I wonder if he could have gotten out of the situation using his car as a weapon when he was blocked in.

Seems crime bosses need to buy less bling, and more armoured car.

Mike Tyson said everyone has a plan until they get hit.

When the bullets start flying I'd imagine 9/10 people sh*t their pants and all logic heads out the window.
Yep, I think it will take nerves of titanium to sit in that car while they fire at you. This is not the movies....he panicked.

Assault rifles ... your average "bulletproof" car won't protect you for long, maybe 10 rounds or 15 at most.... especially since the fire seemed to be focused on one window.

In the clip it's clear they were shooting at him and nothing happened. He on his own decided to make a run for it. I would much rather buy time sitting in the vehicle knowing these people can't stay there long vs trying to make a run for it. Bullets travel way faster than any human :o

I saw what looked like a puff inside the car prior to him running, the kind of thing you would expect when the glass had given up.... and was no longer providing protection.

I didn't realize at was bulletproofed.

Man, he could just have drove forward and between the poles of the carports and driven away from the looks of it.

Agreed. The first burst of shots hit his car and never entered it. He was sitting there all cool and collective. Then all of a sudden make a run for it. Makes no sense...

Could have been, I can't see clearly. But it's even noted it's a bullet proof car. Any car in SA being make bullet proof must at least have a rating for an AK (7.62mm) or just leave it.

Maybe he knew they were carrying grenades they could've easily tossed under the car. Or he knew they had an RPG in the car.

Even being rated for 7.62mm means it can only take a few rounds from the rifle before giving up.....

Just doing some quick digging, it seems the 2nd highest Ballistic rating only provides for protection from 7.62mm rounds for 5 shots.

Eventually yes. Repeated shots to the same spot will create a hole eventually. He was in the driving seat, should have used the car to get away. Hindsight I guess

Find the perps. Take them out to sea. Handcuff. Shove a decent hook through their mouth and toss overboard. Theres no shark bait like live wriggly noisy shark bait.
