So i've managed to brick my wife's huawei p9 (i also have exactly the same one). She dropped it in water but managed to get it out pretty quick although not quick enough for it to come on again. So i disassembled it. I the process for some reason it decided to do a software update with 7% battery power. i pulled the battery connector from board to prevent it from doing anything. That was my mistake. I managed to get everything dry again. There wasn't actually much water damage, it was mostly just a bit of dampness. and got everything back together again but it only booted up to a screen, not even a fullscreen, that displayed only the time. I can't get passed that. There is no keyboard that pops up, the fingerprint sensor doesn't do anything. The only options i have are to reboot the device and go in the erecovery mode or fastboot mode. So these being my only options i tried to flash the device with the latest firmware. I tried this via copying the update on the sd-card, tried it via Over the Air update, Tried it via the huaweei hi sense software. Nothing!. I tried using some 3rd party software to reflash bootloader. Nothing seems to work.

Everytime i try to update the firware it gets to 5% then fails.

So..... Does anyone have any other ideas

Cheers

That's not a bricked P9, its a water damaged and poorly assembled P9 now.

I'd take it apart and try again. Otherwise local cell shop.

Try XDA developers. there might be OEM roms and methods to revive the phone there.
You would need to get it into bootloader and there is usually some or other software that you will need to use with your pc to sort it out.
