So I only get coverage if I mount the router outside, 2 bars inside but nothing works and 4 bar signal outside.

Any tips of waterproofing the indoor router? :P

I took this picture for you, to show what my neighbour does... It's far away, so forgive the resolution.

All I'm saying is: results may vary...

Hmm might actually work :p
Have spoken to them about it - they say it improved reception a lot - and has survived a few major storms.... I'd go with a bigger umbrella though.. :) And maybe wrap in clingfilm.. not sure if that would overheat the unit though?

They are using the supplied rain router and are on rain btw.

We had the same issue, but were able to get an external router from rain.

Keep the router indoors and get a external antenna to boost your signal.

Probably a good idea to confirm that. Let me contact Ottena and hear what they say.

They have this one website

This is the one I've got. https://otto-wireless-solutions.mys...ctional-high-gain-mimo-ottenna-11db-lte-md-11

The datasheet doesn't say anything about the 3.6Ghz range which Rain is using. I'll let you know once I get a response, but it's not looking positive.

You can just get a Outdoor Weatherproof Electrical box. Any big hardware or a dedicated electrical stores will sell them. They are around R100, might be more depending on the size of the router. Can easily just for better reception just drill holes where the antennas go out and seal it with silicon where it touches the box, but I will try it without that first as a PVC box should not nearly affect signal as much as inside walls.

Example of a quick Google search.
