WBS defends iBurst disconnections

How stupid. So there we have it, pass the buck !

Mtshali says about 90% of the company's customers only managed download speeds of up to 5Mbps, while the remainder – the alleged abusers – enjoyed speeds of more than 100Mbps.

And that's the customers fault - ahahahahahah !

How the heck can that be the fault of the customer ? That's patently insane !
Do these guys think people were born yesterday ?

He accuses the suspended customers of being irresponsible, and says WBS had no other option but to disconnect them because some users had found a way to bypass the 64Kbps throttle.

Is this guy a moron or something ?
Once again, blaming the customer for their own incompetency !

Sometimes I feel there's no hope in this country for honest companies.

Shame on you iBurst. It's really unprofessional to blame paying customers for your mistakes.

There is hope, but it will take some strong action by the GOV to resolve...
Telkom underlies all of this, if we reduce international bandwidth cost by 400%, then surely even WBS could afford more, and would not be concerned by the so-called bandwidth hogs...

I sure Telkom is enjoying the fact that WBS is dealing with this so badly, as it had redirected some attention away from them...

All I can say if you not happy, do what every consumer should do: bad food at a restuarant, never go again unless they really showed remorse and apologised... Simply said WBS is not following any good customer service standards and therefore you should strongly consider to stop using them.

I don't remember getting 5Mbps or the 100Mbps he's talking about. This is news to me.
Is iBurst really that fast? Just because other users had fast access doesn't make it their fault.

rebel - 100Mbps should actually read 1Mbps - I'm not sure if it was a reporter mess up, or if that's a direct quote from Thami Mtshali - if it is a direct quote - DOH !

no its not, the modems itself can only do 1mb as far as I know, what I think he meant was... no wait, I don't think he knows what the FCK the internet is...

LOL !! :D That must be the biggest kept secret in history, why you guys not tell us IBrust give 100Mbps connections.

Blatent accusations of wrong doing by WBS against their beloved customers.
I propose the following letter should be sent to WBS - registered mail:
Please amend ....

Letter to Thami Mtshali:

[opening blurb]

He accuses the suspended customers of being irresponsible, and says WBS had no other option but to disconnect them because some users had found a way to bypass the 64Kbps throttle.

Insofar as your accusation that "some users had found a way to bypass the 64Kbps throttle". This is a very serious accusation. You are implying that these users used some kind of hacking technique to bypass the 64Kbps throttle. I demand that serious accusations like that be backed with proof, and that the offenders be removed from the network permanently. Users that hack a network MUST not be allowed on the network. Failing this, retract your accusation and apologise publically in writing to these users.

Mtshali says about 90% of the company's customers only managed download speeds of up to 5Mbps, while the remainder – the alleged abusers – enjoyed speeds of more than 100Mbps.

Please explain why it took so long for IBurst to notice this problem on the network, and please re-assure your existing clients that this problem will not happen again. Currently, some users feel that the slow download speeds that 90% of the users experienced is in fact not caused by these 100 or so "abusers". Please provide a written statement re-assuring these users that this will not happen again, and indicate the expected download rate that these normal users are supposed to be able to achieve.

Indicate in your reply what would happen in the following scenario:
At the beginning of next month, everybody once again has a 3GB limit, and 100 users begin downloading at full speed. Will the remaining users once again suffer from bad download speeds?

We support IBurst completely, but feel that our fears are justified. Please reassure us.

Thank you
IBurst community members.

I think he means that in total they were using 100Mbps being pulled to the iBurst network, from their it was the usual speed to the end user.

LOL, but seriously now [verrry seriously], IMO Mtshali did not want to admit just how apalling iBurst actually was, so instead of saying a maximum speedlessness of "5kBytes/s" he said "5Mbps" - just to muddy the confusion a bit more (IMO) :(.

Eish, and to think i was actually thinking of subscribing to these clowns a while back. Disconnecting without warning is unacceptable, it gives me the impression that they see their subscribers as the enemy, not as people/companies who pay them to deliver a service. I'll never support a company that treats its bread & butter in this way. This is exactly why i get so mad each time i get my monthly insult in the post from telkom. Customer service just does not feature in an industry which offers such limited choice to consumers.

Well I've it WBS, to me everything that comes out from the Managment mouth is lie, Why can't they admit it was there fault, Guess What I've exceeded my cap and I can download @ good speed about 50 kb/s, oh well. Let's see if they suspend my account. I'll tell them the true Side How i feel about there stinky company.

Why, do company Lie so much, Like WBS they lie and say there CAP SYSTEM is in place and people found a way to BYPASS there bandwidth managment CAP system, they so claim is so secure, If they can SEE people ABUSE why not see what the problem is with there bandwidth managment system, what A lie.

I'm just been open about WBS, I don't blame Staff, Just management which is high up, who have the says of "LIES"!!!
