The answer is PVR or any equivalent.

I record everything I want to watch and then only watch from my play list - Fast forwarding through any commercial breaks.
Otherwise I watch things 10 to 15 minutes behind time, so I can FF through the ad breaks

beautiful

Agree completely, record stuff while I'm at work, so I have more than enough to watch when I get home, this way, no ads, and the repeats don't bother me so much, cause there's always something on my playlist

What a dumb idea.

Who really wants even more tax money to go into the SANCBC coffers?
Let the advertisers pay for it, and let the scheeple continue to watch it.

Not really a good idea for the public broadcasters in the long run, and honestly not great for viewers as well.

Supporters of the measure argue state television will no longer have to air shows with mass appeal to draw high audience ratings and advertising revenue.

That means their programming will go down the crapper, becuase there is no incentive to secure the rights to great content. And I think there is a clue why:

The reform has been attacked as a power grab by Sarkozy and criticised for handing an advertising revenue boon to private broadcasters such as TF1, owned by Martin Bouygues, a friend of the president.

Seems like Sarkozy is a good buddy to have. :D
