Web Africa ADSL general feedback

Hey, sorry for the late reply :( Didn't see this post until tonight :D Please check your inbox for my PM :) Hope it gets resolved asap. It's so weird to see my torrent's being downloaded at around 10kB/s on my WA Business Uncapped account :( My WA Home Capped account is excellent. It performs like a well-oiled German car. No shaping all day/night.

I'm getting double data calculations and it's eating into my cap.

Before I paste the incidents, here are the facts:
I am the only one using this account (not shared. Also confirmed with sessions history.)
2MB ADSL Line with theoretical maximum DL rate per hour of +- 750MB / Hour


Y M D H DL UL
2014 7 9 6 1368.52 114.78
2014 7 18 5 1397.67 35.3
2014 7 22 22 1409.26 44.28

The above three are the easy ones to spot (i.e. there's no way my line could've downloaded that), but how often am I using 200MB per hour (as an example) yet WA calculate it as 400MB?

Yes but all your post explains is that you show the usage an hour later. What I am reading here is that the query is how is it possible for double the possible capacity of the line be recorded.

I have had this issue before

I'm busy downloading something through Origin.
Here is my WebAfrica usage for today, 10AM - 11AM, the hour I started the download.
10:00 - 11:00 1 241 846 499 bytes 1.15 GB
Here is NetLimiter showing that download:

Ok, fine, maybe it tracked it in the wrong hour. But here's my webafrica usage for the next hour:
11:00 - 12:00 737 004 297 bytes 702 MB
Here is NetLimiter showing that download:
http://imgur.com/I5UsGNv

If there were provisions, then they're not reflecting. The download between 10AM - 11AM is "double" ( or something ) yet nothing changes to accommodate this.

I have been with afrihost for a long time, decided to test WA to see how their service are and if its any better than AH, so i got a 2gb account and it worked perfect, so i added another 2gb and another 2gb and decided to switch over to WA for good, so i got a 400GB home adsl pro package for R900pm, since i started using it i have had problems. so lets start.

local latency to my TS hosted in JHB on a dedi server:
very good results:

but my lowest ping so far for the night:

this has been this way since the get go. obviously i can test a few hundred games on steam to verify the issue exists everywhere for me. lets not even get started on pingtest.net results.

Im lost as what to do, I have dedicated servers, domains, lines and adsl all over and no one can provide me a with a decent service, its kinda tiring to switch everything over from one isp to another and then ending up having the same issues, all my stuff is cancelled at afrihost and will shut down end of july and need a proper isp before then to host all my stuff.

Something to bear in mind is that while you think these amazing promos generate a lot of goodwill, in my experience it generated the opposite.My capped account was performing flawlessly before these promos but after the free 50GB offer became available I could no longer download during business hours.As a result I have cancelled my service and am reviewing my options.I know other ISP's don't shape their capped accounts during business hours so makes no sense to stay with WA.
 
Currently getting close to line speed (1.9MB/sec) on an NNTP download. Far be it from me to complain when something is actually going right on this capped account - but since you claim nothing is specifically being shaped/throttled, and NNTP has been running at 120K/sec this entire month, I'm curious as to what is actually going on - especially since I've cancelled the account. Did you relax the daytime shaping rules? Upgrade your IPC capacity? Is this an oversight and the system didn't switch on shaping, or is this just a temporary test of some sort?
 
If I go for the capped 400GB, will I get shaped during the day?
 
Nevermind, fluctuating wildly now, and has sunk below 800K/sec and still dropping steadily. Bring on the 1st!

NNTP and P2P are shaped hard. Don't let all the gold and platinum bandwidth levels fool you - they don't apply to anything besides browsing/video.
