Hi Guys

Can somebody explain to me how WA cancellation policy works.

I have a reseller account and i have just being informed that i may not cancel any packages with them , without written consent and 3 days prior to month end!

I mean this is ridicules. Now i have to run a unused 10gig account , from 1 of my clients for a whole month.

I 've cancelled and created a number of accounts in the pass and never being told that.

NOW, in doing so. I've now made my mind up that i will move my complete portfolio from them.

In Business you must look after the people that bring you the business. Especially in these time!

Silly if you ask me!

Thanks for the warning. But, I had already excluded them from my list of hosting providers when they did not answer my emails regarding cancellation procedures.

Truly silly

I give them allot of business. Its now just principals.

Only thing now is moving all these things. But fortunately we started doing so. So we loose a bit of time, but at the end it will be well worth it.

Now i just need to find a suitable ISP!

Unfortunately, as WA couldn't match Afrihost's ADSL bandwidth pricing, I am now in a position where I need to cancel my WA ADSL account.

Another unfortunate obstacle is that their website seems to be down at the moment.

Could someone from WA please let me know of the process I should follow in order to cancel in the simplest and most efficient way, as to avoid any complications in the future.

With thanks

I can't say that I'm too happy with WA at the moment. Just got my account statement this morning, and I see I have been billed AGAIN for last month's data (on new invoices) that I have already paid for.

Ya, I tried to cancel my 5GB SAIX account with WebAfrica and have been told: "Unfortunately our policy has changed and we now require 2 days notice on cancellations."

What the HELL ????

I have always opened and cancelled accounts at different times of the month, sometimes even on the LAST day.

WHY the change, and WHEN was it communicated to us????

It was never explained to us. This came to action the minute Afrihost started their little adsl campaign.

Because the month prior to that i cancelled 2 accounts with no problems!

Anyway. Next month we move, so another BIG client lost!!!

WA peeps have you gone into hiding?

You're usually quick with responses to posts... please advise as per my post above.

I had the same problem, only they told me it was THREE days, not two like they told you!! (If it is indeed two days, then I cancelled in time ie. 28 Sept) I wrote them back that this is unacceptable and they said they'll get back to me. It's clearly stated here: http://www.webafrica.co.za/adsl/standard/

"No cancellation notice period"

This pretty much amounts to false advertising. I wonder if I shouldn't just cancel the debit order with my bank before they can charge me for October. It'll be fun to see what emails their legal team will send...

But seriously, if their site states "no cancellation period", then that is how it should be. If their policy has changed, fine. But I want to see it stated clearly on the site. I'm gonna follow this up with WA, I've had nothing but good service from them, it'll be a shame to see it all go to waste now.

This is a joke. That link clearly states that their is no Cancellation policy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I even print screened it and saved it as a jpg for my amusement.

SO WA, what do you have to SAY!!

You guys have a serious problem coming, if you keep up at this rate!

They seem to have lost a lot of customers due to Afrihost's Superior ADSL Prices - perhaps they are trying to hold onto their existing customers hoping they would change their minds about moving?

suddenly stalling, waiting for the Afrihost special to end?

Have Mercy Afrihost!!

Yea, i worked that out from the word go. Sad!

Hi guys,

As per our AUP, https://www.webafrica.co.za/docs/aup.html, the cancellation policy has always required a non renewal notification of at least 2 business days prior to the renewal date (if one tries to cancel using the customer service area it should also display like this) however our website is admittedly inconsistent and out of date on the product page and we are working on updating it.

We were previously lenient on this policy for customers but due to resource limitations we sometimes couldn't get to the cancellation queries fast enough before month-end, which led to a number of upset customers.

We apologise for any inconvenience/confusion this has caused and if you would be so kind as to message me your client details I will gladly investigate applying credit notes where appropriate.
