Just started having issues with my WA connectivity. Switched to AH .. it's fine. Switched a couple of times back and forth and certain sites don't load on Web Africa but load on Afrihost. IS / SAIX issue somewhere?

can't get onto mybb, news24.co.za, iol.co.za ... works fine with AH. The AH console loads fine ...

I had to switch to AH just to make the post ...

Just tested all 3, from my WA account. Working just fine.
Have you tried ipconfg /flushdns yet?

Getting some weird results to iol, but it still loads fine.

Switched back to WA. Flushed the DNS. Couldn't access mybb. Had to switch back to AH just to load this page. Definitely an issue. Only used 8% of my 15GB allowance on WA, so there's no issue about the cap.

Both Traceroute and Ping don't work on WA, but work fine with AH. I definitely have an issue with WA at the moment.

Hey guys

There are no reported issues at the moment on our network that would cause connectivity issues.

I would however still like to have your accounts investigated for you.

@JayN - Please could you drop me a PM with your client code and contact details.
@ld13 - Could you please do the same.

As soon as I receive your details I will have it logged and investigated for you.

Thanks. ;)

Yea I'm having trouble with international sites with my WA account.
I'm using it now to post this on MyBB, local is 100%.

EDIT: Did a few things and it seems to be working fine now. Maybe my problem was unrelated and just happened at the same time. :P

Whats the IPs you are getting for those sites? Have you tried tracerouting directly to e.g. 41.203.21.137?

There is nothing wrong with my account mate ;)

I switched back just a moment ago ... and I couldn't load MyBB and the WA console (the only two I tried). Back on AH now.

Switch back to your WA account and try loading the WA DSL console directly 196.220.58.65 and also MyBB directly 41.203.21.137.

Ok ... switched back. It doesn't work on the addresses.

The 41.203 .... comes up with a page that says "It works". The 196.220 loads but doesn't complete. The actual addresses don't resolve. Apple Mail also does not work ... I had to switch back to AH to reload this page to post this.

I'm having issues with streaming (youtube) on WA ... it's worse than 384k now. Hope it sorts itself out real soon

Just tried a few random videos and the youtube speed test video set at 360p on my 384k line. Streamed just fine. Constant ~325kbps stream being reported. What line speed do you have?
I tend to get differing performance from different videos firstly because of the differing bit rates and secondly I would guess that the videos are scattered across various servers that ain't always perfectly load balanced.

Having same issue with some international sites taking up to 5 minutes to load - must be their new shaping policy...

Few examples please?

There must be a new shaping policy in play ... I have a 4meg line and downloads take forever. Yesterday I downloaded a 68MB file in 2 hours just after my issue. Sites loaded fine and quick. This morning's peak bandwidth in has been 142 KB/s well down from the normal around 400 KB/s I get.
