4.2meg

How come you get 4.2Mb on a 4Mb line?

I have been getting terrible latency on my webafrica and afrihost account since Thursday night, making WoW raiding impossible. 1k+ latency. Any chance its related?

I'm in Durban, 4MB line.

Yeah I still need to go in for my telepathy upgrade.

Seriously though, as we don't run the local loop and SAIX doesn't provide us with any realtime monitoring it does unfortunately take us time to troubleshoot isolated probs outside our network.

We're pushing SAIX to give us an ETA on having this resolved.

But you came on here and said there is no reason why it should be slow. In about 4 clicks of my mouse, I found that Cybersmart was aware of work done today on SAT3. Ask Laurie where his guys got their telepathy upgrade.

Funny all the above because this morning at about 07:20 I spoke to Akeel in support and he about the SAIX issue which was causing my slow browsing etc

Not sure why it took WA hours to actually mention on their alerts.

SAIX and Seacom guys schedule maintenance on the same weekend. Haha.

Thanks waroop for following up & to all others explaining it.

I'm in Cape Town which most probably explains why my local browsing took a hit as well because MWEB isn't slow in loading local sites.

@waroop, maybe get the guys at support to be a bit more proactive updating the status bar thingy as that was the first place I looked at before going

That's why I switched to WA bandwidth because MWEB is a bit slowish (and wanted to play some WoW)

Yup, we can definitely improve our response time here. We're going to rework our internal processes to ensure we deliver as rapidly as possible.

Sweet, get the programmers to whip up a quick bot that periodically checks an email box (that is subscribed to the mailing list earlier) and then push up notifications automatically, and depending on the status, flags it "need to know" or "Red alert you should be aware" :)

Well looks like SAT-3 maintenance was completed earlier today so everything should be back to normal.

My latency in WoW has gone up from ~350ms to ~500ms in the past 2 weeks or so ;(
Thats not on. Can you send in a support ticket pls Kuga ([email protected]) with your client code and some details and we'll get that investigated asap for you.

My Internet is slow as F***. Youtube is slow as hell and so is PSN. Please guys, can someone get an update as to when it will be complete? I AM GOING TOTALLY NADS!!!!
