Hi,

Does anyone know of a program that will allow me to "manage my downloads" via a web-based, remote interface.

Thanks.
Aharon

some more detail plz... ???

If you wanna set downloads going on uTorrent at home, you can access that anywhere using there Web Interface. Works quite well actually, though I dont use it anymore...

Alternatively, if you have access to install software, just get VNC or something like that up and running

easy! :D

whats that got to do with it? :erm:
:erm: Almost everything.

FTP downloads require a certain package, news server downloads require a certain package, torrent downloads require a certain package and http downloads require a certain package

yeah suppose you right! :p

guess thats why I asked for more info, and probably the easiest would be VNC so you can then manage whatever is on the PC that is doing the downloading... without being restricted! :)

Or he might have access to a web server which he downloads to... with something like torrentflux. Dunno, we need more info.

Hi All,

Sorry for the "lack of information"... basically I would like to be able to add http downloads to my download queue at home (adsl connection) by visiting myip:5000 or something like that and also to view their progress... like have they timed out, speed etc...

Thanks

Utorrent has a webgui as well.
Google being the imperative answer here, there are plenty guides

You do realise that you will not actually be able to access your PC, because it will be too busy downloading ... right?

rubbish... I do it all the time... even when my line is being maxed out at home.
Or are you being sarcastic? :p

I am not being sarcastic.

I have HellaNZB over ZussaWeb running on my setuo, and when it's running full tilt it is so unresponsive that it's pointless trying to do anything with it.
I am curious as to you being able to squeeze more data through.

I run: ADSL modem -> PPPOE connection -> the server that is running the download.
You probably run: ADSL router + PPPOE connection + routing (In one) -> the server that is running the download.

I am speculating that there is some intelligence build into your ADSL router that "makes room" for the incoming data ... ??? dunno

Any download manager for standard http downloads with web gui?

Thanks for sharing, did you try this before perhaps - and can comment on it vs. FDM or IDM ? (in terms of features and usability)

No, never used it... but I did register Getright and I know that it is one of the features of Getright.

Personally I prefer to just log into my PC using Logmein Free from the office and do all my stuff from the remote desktop.

Been using radmin here, but its a bit slow if downloads maxed out
