I'm looking for a decent web filter to use on a corporate environment. We used to use a Barracuda Webfilter, but it hasn't been performing well over the last year or so, so I started using the web filter function on our Juniper firewall. It's underwhelming to say the least. We need to block access the obvious adult, gambling, social etc websites, but it also needs to block apps like Dropbox. Does anyone have suggestions for something like this?

We use ESET security on all machines with a management server for configuration.
Currently have +/- 450 users on it.
Can white/blacklist as well as use their "Category Filter"

There are a few things to consider here
are you just trying to block certain categories or do more such as limit time on categories, prioritize certain traffic etc
Additionally, if you are looking at improving security, try not silo your solutions and instead find a way to get them to work together. For example utilize endpoint protection that has some communication with the network or perimeter
Maybe look at other features you can introduce with this opportunity, such as sandboxing,

ESET is a great product BUT for what you're looking to achieve, I wouldn't recommend it.

Problem with ESET would be in an environment where you have BYOD, unless you have control over every single device on your network, you would need to install ESET on each and every workstation, laptop, phone and tablet on your network.

I would recommend FortiGate. Drop me a PM and we can discuss a free assessment if you're interested.
