I saw that Webafrica has teamed up with Fujitsu Siemans and is offering a year's free ADSL with the purchase of one of their laptops. So, as I am thinking of getting a basic, entry level laptop as a second computer, I was interested. Went to Makro only to find that the one with the offer is R2000 more than the same laptop without the WA offer - and all it has extra is a slightly bigger HDD (160gb vs 120 gb) and Vista Home Premium instead of Basic (whoopee)...

Hardly "free" now, is it! Anyone else see this? WA...have I missed something?

*Correct me if I'm wrong, but stay away from Fujitsu - I use to work in a PC store (2yrs ago) and I hated it when they came in. Very dodgy stuff.

--edit-- I do not know if in the last 2years if they have improved at all

I plan to - from what I saw, the quality was really poor...and that was just the casing! Looked at the entry-level Compaq at Incredible and it looks pretty decent...any other suggestions for around R5,500?

Interesting - I have had mine for 2 years and it has never given a day of trouble, actually I know 2 other people that also have Fujitus and no problems....Show me another brand that gives better price vs. features & performance. They are far from dodgy! Not to mention their after sale support is also great.

I have four Fujitsu / Fujitsu-Siemens laptops, and have never had a day of hassle...!
