*Rant on*

My ADSL line used to managed by WebAfrica. I phoned them up to migrate the line back to Telkom since I'm moving properties soon and needed the line at Telkom to have Telkom move my lines to the new property.

Instead WebAfrica put through a cancellation request to Telkom. I noticed this early on and having spoken to probably every agent in their call centre over the past 5 days, my line line still got cancelled last night. None of the agents ever came back to me!

So I phone Telkom to reconnect my ADSL line. Telkom tells me they have no more ports available on my exchange!

I am F*&ing fuming right now!

Lesson learned always be in controll of your own ADSL line and only get your ADSL account from ISP's

This I shall keep in mind, better pay Telkom the slightly higher tariff for rental and avoid these kind of headaches. Sorry mate

For me Web Africa data is really good, but their support/administration/whatever is really incompetent, and that's the only reason why I moved away from them.

I had 2 lines managed with them. Ask 1 to be migrated back to Telkom. Next month found out my line isn't migrated with Telkom but still with WA. 2nd line also asking them to migrate back to Telkom. Instead they also cancel the line with Telkom. I also had a crap load of double billing issues with them.

Ouch. That sucks OP, hope you come right.

I just did the whole migrate line thing too from Afrihost. All went smooth it seems though, as I'm connected at my new place.

^ this.
Had a business manage my line once for day, but then requested them to move it back to Telkom. No good can come from a line being managed by an ISP. In my opinion of course.
