@NarrowBandFtw @Wrath of Khan Can you okes check something for me. When you log into WebAfrica, go to the usage site. On the left there's "Authentication".
How many phone lines you got there under line management?
I've just checked mine and apparently I have 4 phone numbers on my line port.
fun fact, that "authentication" part of the webpage was error-ing out most of yesterday
but basically I have "4" entries under "line management" with 3 different port numbers
3 of the entries list my landline number as the connecting line and the other one says "unknown"
I thought about enabling secure DSL, but they even give you a warning that it uses an identifier than can change and it will result in loss of connectivity if it does so it doesn't sound practical or reliable
I hasten to add that I highly doubt some other entity is connecting to my account, I changed password yesterday and the usage is still completely whack
besides that on that authentication page under "your connection history" it matches 100% with my restarting of the router and shows my connections
only
like I tried to explain to the support zombie:
- I've triple checked DSL connection history
- I've triple checked devices connecting to my router
- I'm closely tracking usage with the router's stats
- and as of 24 hours ago I changed the account's password
there is no way in hell the insane usage on my account can be explained as anything other than a Webafrica f-up
PS: I should also just add for full transparency even though this Webafrica f-up meant my cap was
"hit", they have not throttled or limited me, but I am 100% convinced if I had auto-topup enabled it would be charging my credit card on a daily basis to
"top me up" for
"hitting the cap" ... anyone out there able to confirm?
