Hi guys..
Can anyone go to webafrica.co.za or even ping it?!?

I cant connect, cant go to the website and cant ping the site.. nothing.. Its like they dropped off the net..

Any idees?

It looks like it is down, I already have all my customers phoning and skypeing asking why they can't get their emails:mad:

Just phoned them.. They have a problem with there hosting and the site but DSL should still work.. If it does not, just phone them to reset your account and it should work again. Just got connected.. :) WA FTW!

They have confirmed that it is a DNS server outage. All my DNS is hosted with them so all my sites are down... :(

WA has got to be the most unreliable ISP out there. Endless issues, week after week after week.
Final straw now, we are going to move our stuff to someone else.

I am tired of the WA hosting issues - this is the second time in a week for me, and it took the 6 hours to fix it last time.

Anyone know a good dedicated server hosting company in Durban? I think I am going to move local so I can kick a... when it not working - particularly at dedicated hosting prices.

WA used to be excelent, but the last year it just got worse and worse. Where can one move to, who is reliable?

Afrihost

All our servers are hosted with them - no problems. Moving our DNS from WA to afrihost today.

Also better speed. Get around 1MB/s from our old server at web africa. Moved to afrihost and get around 7 or 8MB/s

Geez you people can bitch and moan.

Any ISP is going to have some kind of problems at times. Its computers people, theres bound to be problems.

I"m a platinum reseller of WA, you do not see me jumping up and down, having a little hissy fit.

Deal with it people.

We are bitching and moaning cause they have no redundancy. Their core router fails and they fall of the planet. Their dns server fails and they dont have a backup. Jawug has more dns redundancy than WA has

+2 TRL Tech - will call you, see what you can do for me: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...g-recharges!?p=4931223&viewfull=1#post4931223

As for WA's DNS Server, warned them several times that it is unreliable - they did not take notice of the issue; I use 196.7.0.138 & 66.8.94.93 (seems best on their network) to verify see: http://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm

If I cannot connect to the internet I cannot make a living - if you find it acceptable maybe you should move to Zimbabwe.

you sound just like the fools who wanted to sue Mweb when they had the cable break earlier this year. Shame, didn't you get to download you latest utorrent or news server eps this morning. Really

I have more then 100 Domains and mail solutions with WA, not one of my clients had a problem with the downtime. They understood that these things happen.

Your not the only one "If I cannot connect to the internet I cannot make a living" chill a bit, a have beer or a kit kat.

Listen, we're all very happy that you are happy but some of us are not getting what we pay for and so we have a right to complain. Too many people in this country accept poor levels of service and that is why this country is in the sh## that it's in. WA have had numerous issues over the last while, I think people have been pretty patient tbh.
