Hi guys,

For all of you that are clients at WebAfrica I think there is a huge problem at the moment. Besides the fact that my pings went from 30-40 to 400-500 in a matter of an hour, it seems that their debit-order system might also be on the blink?

It's now the 5th of the month and my debit order was supposed to go through on the 1st...nothing yet. Anyways...I tried to phone their support number and was holding for such a long time that I thought I mistakenly phoned Telkom support...:p

Anyways...I didn't want to hold another 20 minutes so I decided they're obviously getting swamped with people complaining about this.

Have any of you actually reached their support? What are your pings looking like?

Pings to games.saix.net = 450ms
Pings to saix.net = 570ms
Pings to www.webafrica.co.za = 320ms

Something is definately wrong.

Not to worry...spoke to Jason and he said there definately seems to be an issue on Telkom's side. Don't know what's happening to my debit order though? Anyways....let's phone Telkom then.

i'm glad you understand now that the problem is with SAIX and is rarely with the ISP as they are just resellers of the same SAIX/IS what ever accounts.

They usually reply instantly via email. No need to spend any more cash on phone calls.

Debit orders are being reworked I promise. The current system is not designed to handle the volumes of transactions and leads to a "lag" before its shows up as a credit on our system.

We in the final stages of receiving a direct feed into the bank network which will render it a thing of the past. It's been quite a long process with lots of checks and hoops to jump through though it should be approved soon.
