WebAfrica LocalOnly Trial Account

Please note that these accounts will only be valid for a few days, although we reserve the right to extend it if needed.
That sound to me like they are seriously considering extending the trial. That may actually give us a chance to try and dent these accounts. :)

Dent with what? We have rubbish upload speeds, DC hubs are slow as people are limiting upload speeds and access to the newsserver is extremely limited.

+1
What are you guys actually using this account for?

Seriously, what can I do with it? I got some stuff from public FTP servers but now I'm back on my SAIX local for the news server.

While I did get some small stuff from the mweb newsservers when they actually work, and a linux distro or 2 from ftp servers, I have been burning a chunk of it with the DC++ server williamvdm set up. Thankfully I have a 4mb line, so I've been able to upload a lot of content so far (still wish I had 4mb upload though :()
So far I have used 37gb, according to the WA control panel.

if they extend it, which they might, I may use half ....... I think I'm already on about 30 odd gigs.

Got the 10GB. How the hay did I miss out on this one?? What a loser... :o

Just goes to show the low cost of local if they can give us 200GB to play with. Next up from WA: A 100GB local only account for ~R200. Sign me up!

That would be good, provided they can also give access to a local news server...

Well, just signed up. Got the user details etc, so they are still giving these out. :)

Just a matter of does it end tomorrow?? I could use 100GB a month on 384, but in a day, sadly, not that much. :(

I sure hope its not going to end tomorrow. :(

Sadly I can't see this happening....ever.
