It seems that they are experiencing some problems. Their site has been loading very slowly for the last 3 weeks.

This is what I get when I log with my WebAfrica credentials, in order to get access to my control panel for ADSL service :

-------------------------------------------------------
Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113'

Script timed out

/client/default.asp

The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools.

It is now working now. But I still say that their site is sometimes extremely slow

and it's broken again. I can't even get to their main website.

Same here, it has been intermittent like this for nearly a month.

Either the login does take forever, or once logged in, the "billing" tab does not work, and times out.

Hi Guys

We are currently experiencing intermittent connectivity problems to our client database. Our engineers are attending and this should be resolved shortly

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Can I suggest trying a new network cable?

I've found that when they have big pieces missing out the middle they don't work so well ;)

the site is completely inaccessible for me at the moment. this doesn't look good from the view of a prospective client!

I thought maybe my current excuse for an ISP (lantic) was somehow preventing me from reaching WA after I told them in PG13 english about my plans to move to WA. :)

its a win box, rebooting it should fix it in the short term. in the long term, migrate to a 'nix server.

either way, i'm trying for 2 days now to buy an account from you guys. you'd best hurry up.

I have convinced a friend of mine to signup with WebAfrica.

Now I am getting very embarrassed to tell my friend that we will have to try back later for updating her banking details, as the website is down...

I have convinced a friend of mine to signup with WebAfrica.

These forums did a good job of convincing me to switch from @lantic to WebAfrica. To such an extent that I think I'll still use them, even though they have some problems hosting their site.

After reading about them here and on their site for a while, it seems to me that they offer great ADSL bundles, but they lack a bit where hosting is concerned. Maybe this site failure has to do with their hosting shortcomings.

Hi guys ... it seems the site is still offline (same message as OP).

My mate cannot connect to one of his servers and also cannot get through to any of the operators.

Is it possible for any of the WA guys to contact him via MSN or other means?

Please PM me for details...

Hi everybody,

As waKevinR said, we were experiencing problems with connectivity to one of the client database servers.

This has been resolved, and should no longer be a problem.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

waBradley,

I can load www.webafrica.co.za but when I click on "ADSL" at the top, and then on any of the links on that page, the pages do not load at all. It just says waiting to respond. I basically cannot access any of the information pages on the site, only the WA homepage.

If I close the browser and visit www.webafrica.co.za again and first click on the "About", "Hosting" or "Support" links at the top, those pages load successfully but when I go to "ADSL" and click on any of the links on that page e.g. http://www.webafrica.co.za/adsl/complete/ then I suddenly get the same problem again, page does not load and from then on none of the pages load.

I tested in both Firefox 3.0.4 and Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 browsers.

(I can access the usage etc. pages on the DSL Console at https://dsl.webafrica.co.za/ successfully but I'm assuming that is a different database.)

It appears as if there is connectivity issues with the database servers again? I experience this specific issue quite frequently and it has been an issue all day long.

Hi Globetrotter,

Are you able to browse the site properly today?
If not, please let me know and I'll follow-up on our side.

Hi Bradley. I am unable to log in tonight. Error message below:

"Server Error in '/' Application."
"Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. "
