Hello,

I have a question about WebAfrica's Multi-Realm access. You can change your network provider between Saix or Verizon by adding a S or V to your logon.

Whats the benefit in this?

Thanks!

I've never done this, but I've heard that when you are experiencing slow speeds on the one, change it to the other one for better speeds. Other than that, idk. :D

I don't know too but some engineer dude at webafrica probably got a bonus for implementing it.

both is via sat3; and yes when one is ****ed you just add either .v or .s at end and it uses the other network.

AFAIK when you don't use the switch then WebAfrica automatically selects the preferred network for you.

I've still got to taste the life of unshaped for myself sometime, too bad I'm broke, lol :p

The benefits are two fold : Firstly one is paying for one package while being able to switch between two networks and secondly that ability allows one to choose the network which provides the lowest latency at the time for ones application :)

The multi-realm functionality is available exclusively to clients that are using unshaped bandwith. It is possible due to concurrent connections to have of the connections connected to Verizon and others on the SAIX network simultaneously. :D

For accessing the Verizon network, append '.v' to the end of the ADSL Unshaped username.

For accessing the SAIX Network, append '.s' to the end of the ADSL Unshaped username.

For example, if the unshaped account's username is "[email protected]":

* "[email protected]" will use the Verizon network.
* "[email protected]" will use the SAIX network.
* "[email protected]" will use our preferred network at the given time.

The user name "[email protected]" doesn't exist however we are not currently able to offer test accounts as they were removed due to service abuse :o

Don't worry, the friendly mybb folks love sharing their prepaid account details. I know, I'm one of them :p You dont' need to have test accounts, just top us up with a magic Gb now and then :D
