This is rather weird.

A client informed me they had connectivity issues yesterday, but said they were able to log in this morning with their WebAfrica account.

I logged into their DSL console page to see what was going on. At first everything seemed normal, but when I downloaded the session history .csv file, things got interesting.

Although the main page indicates they have been assigned an IP address from the 41.185.xx.xx range, the session history file indicates that they are currently on the 105.236.xx.xx range, which I confirmed is a MTN Business IP address.

When trying to access their router via the 41.185.xx.xx IP address, it does not open anything, but when using the MTN IP, it works great.

Anyone have a possible explanation for this other than the one that WebAfrica is now also using MTN Business as an upstream provider?

Maybe your client is actually using a Afrihost account on that router?

WebAfrica runs their own Tier 1 network. They do not piggyback off of any other providers.

Just confirm we are not using MTN and like Roadrunner said we have our own Network.
