I just contacted WebAfrica to ask about their reasonable cancellation fee clause 2.5 on their fibre-specific T&C's. The lady I spoke to, Nicky, didn't know and said she'd ask the product manager. She phoned me back after chatting to the product manager to say the following:
"The reasonable cancellation fee is the number of months remaining in your initial period multiplied by the instalment amount"
This essentially means that they are ignoring the CPA legislation either on their part, or on the part of Telkom. The consumer needs to pay the full remainder of instalments with no service as they retrieve the equipment too according to the T&C's.
While I find this sort of thing appalling, I'm not really surprised given what I have read online.
If WebAfrica would like to clarify this, please feel free. You were on the verge of a new customer but I for one cannot agree to such greedy terms and conditions.
