Hi All,

Been having a very frustrating day with our office ADSL connection today. Line has dropped quite a few times, and then we have erratic periodic of extremely high latency and quite a bit of packet loss. I whipped out a diagnostic tool to see where the issue lies... here are 3 traceroute/ping test results:

I'm not expert with network diagnostics but it appears that the hop "CORE.GP-CN-HET-MEE-1.TO.GP-HV-ICT-MEE-1.DFA.P2P.10G.za [41.84.13.66]" is dropping alot of packets??

Am I correct or am I missing something like a stuffed ADSL router or exchange congestion? And if I am correct, who do I contact to assist in fixing the issue... is this WebAfrica's responsiblity?

In all 3 cases there is high latency to hop 1. How is hop 0 connected to hop 1? WiFi? Try with a wired connection. None of the info beyond hop 1 is useful here (a tool such as mtr/winmtr may be more useful here but would probably confirm WiFi as (or at least LAN/router) the source problems.
