WebAfrica - yay or ney?

Hi guys.

I'd like to put a quick poll out there, so I can be sure that I don't make the same mistake I made with ODS. I should have done more research and gotten more feedback before I signed up with them.

20/20 hindsight...

So, now I'd like to ask you guys to give me feedback on WebAfrica, please?

I use my mainly for World of Warcraft, surfing/downloading and VPNing in to work. I need my connection to be fast and reliable. I need good pings for World of Warcraft and I need decent speeds for surfing and downloading.

With that in mind, I'd like to get an uncapped, unshaped account.

There are two options that were sent to me by WA's support desk:

IS ADSL Uncapped Express

IS ADSL Uncapped

From what I can see, the only difference between the two, besides the price, is the fact that the express one has the 10g/10 days limitation. I don't want any limitations whatsoever. I'm sick of keeping track of my bandwidth so I don't get capped. I use Teamspeak for WoW and that chews bandwidth as well, so I don't want to have to keep an eye on my bandwidth the whole time.

According to their support desk, however, neither of these accounts are unshaped, so I might run into problems with WoW? The IS Uncapped one is also on a 12 month contract, and that's a HUGE nono...

If these guys will not do the trick... can anyone please suggest a package/ISP that'll work for me? I'm desperate!

IS definitely won't work for WOW, the latency'll be far too high, its not great for VOIP either. For WOW/VOIP you definitely need a SAIX connection, shaped should be fine for VOIP, think you might need unshaped for WOW though.
 
What you really need is unshaped SAIX or Verizon. IS is not suitable for international gaming.

Also, you can't use P2P protocols with IS "Uncapped" Express. No torrents or Limewire. Although you can still use the IS news server... For what that's worth.

Where do you suggest I get an unshaped SAIX account from? I really want it to be uncapped as well. I'm so sick of checking my bandwidth the whole time... :(

LOL, I don't want to get it just for WoW. I want a VPN solution that I can use on top of my connection, so I can get better latency when playing WoW.
 
I don't think you get uncapped SAIX, dude.

But if you're willing to pay through the nose, you can get a prepaid unshaped account from Webafrica which "recharges" automatically - and debits your account - when there's only X many megabytes left. It's R125 per GB for unshaped or R70 per GB for SAIX shaped (which is still a lot better than IS).
