WebAfrica...

As @cavedog already warned me, their move over has been horrible so far. Been having single digit mbps for 3 or so days. Yesterday was almost useless. Today seems to be better, but not 100%.

No clue why they went back when their previous provider, in Durban region at least, was pretty good.

Best part was Plex yesterday...

I didn't watch the Plex background screen for 4 hours. The PlayStation was playing it in the background.

Teams was a bit kak though. Had to disconnect the WiFi every 30 minutes for Teams to update and emails to sync.

Merger in the works and requirement is to use the network, and they are battling with it. Believe me I know.
@PBCool thank you for this information, without it we'd have been completely in the dark regarding what is happening with their network at the moment...

@WebAfrica Helper, how is it that another ISP has to be the one to inform your customers that there are major network changes happening rather than just 'maintenance'? I've since gone through my emails to confirm I've yet to receive an email stating something even remotely similar - surely this is something your customers need to be made aware of especially with the amount of latency/speed issues at the moment? For the record, having worked with large scale networks I understand that things happen out of your control and I am more than happy to be patient as you figure things out but an email would have made all the difference. Really disappointing honestly...

They have been absolutely useless the whole long weekend so far - not even getting 10Mbps down on a 1Gbps line LOL
I don't think I've ever seen a large ISP fck up like this. Like how do you even move to a new network provider wholesale like this but have none of the infrastructure to support your userbase.

On a 400/400 lmao
