I just signed up with webafricas 5 gig international shaped package but i just want to make sure, i was previously with mweb and they provide you with an email account, does webafrica do this? was ticked on the site but im a bit fuzzy with setting up email accounts.

Rather get an email account that isnt tied to any one ISP in case you decide to change again - gmail springs to mind. http://mail.google.com/mail/

I'd still opt for making my family trust gmail. Bigger storage too

bwana is right. Go with Gmail. You can configure Outlook to use GMail too btw.

Yeah...you need to enable POP under the settings tab in GMail....and then follow the GMail guide that applies to your outlook version.

But I agree with the above guys. I strongly strongly suggest you go with the Gmail. You will not be sorry and it is a thousand times more versatile. Plus you never have to worry about losing your e-mail or backing it up. Since it is all stored online.... and you can access it from any computer.
Stick with the Gmail... you will never have to change your e-mail address ever again.

If you are worried about that, then always use the https:// encrypted Gmail link. And don't use any third party apps. But I have never had a problem.
I just wish gmail had folder options to keep your inbox tidy

What you want folders for? Folders are for wussies!
Gmail purposely does not have folders, because the filters do the same thing. Just add a tag to a certain type of e-mail... hit the filter... and it is all sorted for you. You never have to worry about moving stuff in and out of folders.

They can be. Just make sure you have Skip inbox ticked (as well as "Apply the label") when you create the filter.I do use labels in gmail but it would be nice if the messages were removed from the inbox and only be visible when you click on the label - like in Outlook.

You are supposed to archive them... then they go into that ALL MAIL section... and when you are looking for one... you either click on the filter link... or you type in a keyword.
Your inbox is for new mail only... everything else should be archived.

I have not been able to access my GMail account the whole day, I get a 502 error. I browsed the Google Forums and there's a few others there who posted the same problem today. I love GMail and use it a lot, it's my primary email address but if I can't access hit, it has no value.
