If it is normal Linux then any webcam should do. Can you borrow a cam from someone to test?

I would go with Logitech since they are very widely supported.

I agree any USB webcam should work. Just make sure that the eeePC hardware makes the min hardware requirements of the webcam. Also some googling to find out if the cam works under linux is recommended
