Webmail.co.za configuration - Help!

Ït is in Gmail, under the Settings / Accounts tab.

Third section down "Get mail from other accounts"

Good! I assume you have also heard of all the other tips and tricks you can do with gmail?

Somehow gmail isn't catching the mail it's "throwing it away", wonder what's up?

You set it to "fetch" from Webmail? is some of it ending up in the spam box?

I'm trying to fetch from a domain email address, it doesn't end up in spam, it's just lost, never arrives, either there on the mail account itself, weird :p

and you are sure that there is new mail waiting there on that domain's mail server? It will only fetch new mail. Won't fetch your old mail obviously, but I'm sure you knew that. :p

Webmail is great and easy to use

Is anyone here familiar with Webmail?

I am trying to set up a webmail account so I can access my Gmail locally.

I created the webmail account.

I set my gmail to be checked by POP access

Now I am trying to configure webmail to show the same name next to my email as gmail does, but there is no option to do this - it only wants to show my full name.

I also want to set my default return address in Webmail to my gmail address, but I can't find anywhere to do this?

Am I missing something? or I webmail just too simple to have these configuration options.

I figured if I could do this then I can send mail from webmail and have it return to my gmail, and then check my webmail and have it download my gmail, even though I am on local only access.

any other suggestions?

I have been accessing my webmail account on my desktop using Outlook Express for a few years now, with almost no problems at all.

To set it up, in Outlook Express, click <TOOLS> <ACCOUNTS>
Click <ADD> and select <MAIL> then on the next screen the display name that you would like to see (e.g. Sam's webmail account).
Click <NEXT>
Then add the POP3 address, which will be <pop3.webmail.co.za> without the quotes,
the SMTP will be that of your usual service provider - I am with Vodamail, so it is <smtp.vodamail.co.za> Click <NEXT> and you're done.
The first time you check email, the server will ask for your password - username is the full email address with webmail (e.g: [email protected]) and the password is the one you selected when you registered with webmail.
Webmail do like you to login at the website now and then, but I do so about once a year.
I think I have only had problems with the service 2 or 3 times in the last 4 years that I have been with them - better than most service providers and excellent considering it is a free service!
Thanks webmail!

Aikona mama...you still use that service? No wonder you bring to life old threads.:D
Give Gmail a try. You won't look back.

I've never been able to get Webmail to work with my normal e-mail client (Thunderbird), as advertised, despite trying the settings everywhich way. And today I can't even get onto the Webmail site. Let's hope things pick up.
