webmail.co.za down?

Can't access it either. Heard they were (have already?) moving/moved their hosting overseas. Maybe they doing it now and their domain is busy resolving.
 
i got on but its really,really,really, really slow.

But I guess its what is expected from everybodies no1 email service :)
 
Geez, I didn't realise anyone even uses webmail.co.za anymore. Good luck to ya...

My thoughts were exactly that. Though some people still like to support local while most fear change or the inconvenience thereof. Way back and even now world free E-mail leader Yahoo! (by market share), even Hotmail wanted nothing to do with S.A (not promoting it locally), Webmail advertised in S.A and got users.

I was amongst the first myself, getting a webmail account way back in 1998 in my first year of varsity. I was a loyal webmail user until 2003 when one day I tried to login to my account and was told that my account does not exist. Despite numerous attempts to find out what happened to my account, I could never get an answer from them despite being a loyal user and having used my account almost every day. So it seems as if they just decided one day to delete my account, and of course I lost everything that was stored in it.

So yeah, I can't help but share my happiness at the demise of this despicable company.

If you think Webmail.co.za has disgruntled users, wait till you read the artillery fire coming from former advertisers. Do a Google search (only search South Africa) for: webmail sucks. People are like on a personal crusade.
 
Often have issues with my ancient webmail.co.za account. Just get yourself a Gmail account and you should be sorted. Not sure if webmail offer a forwarding service for free? Then just forward everything to gmail. Simple :D

Iirc, Gmail can check your mail for you. You just put in your username and password and maybe enable POP3 on the account and all your emails come neatly stacked in a label. I can't say if they support webmail though:erm:
