Website Speed Test South African Server

This is hosted internationally like the rest of them. So how is this local in any way?

Initially, I am using it as such (thought I may as well) but it will be just a simple speed test in the future.
It is on a server located in SA.

where in South Africa is it hosted?

I am asking as it seems their network is a bit slow:

Local, but hosted with Digital Ocean?
Looks like you're also just pulling something from a test app (Pingdom) API somewhere to give you a meaningless rating.

Spam.

Rather use https://tools.pingdom.com/

Local, but hosted with Digital Ocean? ...

Are Digital Ocean and ServerStack related? I see the nameservers are here in SA and in the US, but the A records point to ServerStack Inc.

I've created an account just to thank you Linxie, I think this is already better for us than most tools out there, even if it isn't perfect. Going to be using this a lot, so thank you for sharing.

to be fair, if you use Chrome you can use Lighthouse in dev tools.. and it will give "local" results since you're workstation are presumably local.
Then I compare with GTMetrix which is Canada based.

Not even server speeds are consistent, so results always vary, but you can always get an idea.
