Weed growers thread

Going alright I rate. Topped a week ago to form two main stems and then topped the two stems after the third nodes each as well as removing the growth from the second nodes. So I now have 8 main growth sites (colas) ready to go once I switch it to flowering, planning on doing that at the end of this month.

Looking good, what strain you growing?

Hi Guys, anyone have a good recipe for making oil? I've check a few online guides but literally all of them have different stories. Would be nice to hear from someone with actual experience on the process.

Also, anyone know a place to get food grade ethanol at a decent price? :/

Current grow going quite well. Trying some different techniques this time :D

This was my first batch - but it turned out decent I think. 2ml oil serving for a medium high with some Swazi, which was probably not very high in THC.
  • Decarb in oven 115°C (240°F) for 40 mins.
  • Put decarbed flower and melted coconut oil in a jar inside a pot with simmering water for ~2 hours. I doesn't seem to matter too much how long you simmer - as I've seen recommendations for anything between 1 - 24 hours, 24 hours seems overkill, but the longer the better I guess.
  • I used just enough oil to cover the decarbed flower, well maybe a little more.
  • I didn't add water - as any moisture can lead to a shorter shelve life.
  • Filter oil with my AeroPress with the fine metal filter - paper should work fine too.

Haven't used them, but they seem legit. They also sell the MagicalButter Machine.

Hello! I'm on my second grow, the first one was with coco coir. This time I am just using plain old soil.

The plants have just gone into vegetation from seedlings. The newest growth is coming in funny: twisted and light coloured/yellow. Could anyone advise if this is a nutrient problem or maybe heat? Average temps in the tent has been 30degrees celsius.

The close ups are from today. The photo with all 6 was 2 days ago. Nothing was growing out yellow yet.

Thanks for any light you can shed.20190125_225705.jpeg20190125_225659.jpeg20190120_120241.jpeg

Thanks for the feedback! So most of them seem to be back to green, except for 1, pictured here. Not sure why only that one's leaves grow in light. It is the tallest of the lot.20190127_130036.jpeg20190127_130046.jpeg20190127_130106.jpeg

I see a silver plate to the right of your last picture which I can only assume is a stand for a fan, the clawing of leaves is also caused by wind burn which is too much direct and intense wind on your plants. Could also be something to look out for.

I think this may be the case, thank you.

Made some Muffins with Diafem's "Remo Chemo" strain. Thought I was gonna die xD They pack a massive punch...:laugh:

So glad I spent this last season learning the ropes. Even though its no over I know have a much better idea what I'm in for next season. Almost all of my plants have turned out to be male. Found the right grow medium, found the best spots now for most sunlight, the right pots etc and nutrition. Man its not as easy as just chuck some seeds in the ground. Well it can be but you wont get the best product.
So much learned but still so much more. Next to get some proper seeds, that I actually know what they are and are actually female. Then some good feeding strategy, probably drip system.

Looking forward to moving to the advanced stage as described in post 71 by Mr B
