Once again the weekend comes to pass and all the downloaders are going nuts.... severely impacting international latency it seems.

I like to play some international mmo's on the weekend..... but at 1400 ms it's not possible. Same ISP during the week is 250-300ms.

Thought I was paying for unshaped.

I have the same problem. I got the unshaped axxess 626 bundle for gaming...getting horrible latency on international mmo's. Logged a ticket with them but they have just ignored me completely.

Yup cybersmart.. and they ignore any correspondence.

Pings to google now peaking at 1.5 to 2 seconds. Pings to cybersmart itself is up to 300+ms (if it doesn't time out).
Asked the helpdesk about this last weekend and was told to restart my router, so yes - they might as well have ignored my request as well.

Thanks for this Explanation!
I was wondering why international Surfing degraded, particularly over long weekends.

i would imagine you would be much better getting the Axxess ADSL Pro unshaped as you can have a IS and Saix account to pick from I see 626 is no longer on the website, however when I used to use it I always got realy bad latency on it and only play online games with the PrePaid Unshaped from Axxess - Playing on European servers normally between 180ms and 210ms

Are you downloading torrents? Because if you're doing that at the same time that you're trying to game it will kill your latency.

Same thing here. On SAOL which I guess is Cybersmart as well. 800-1000ms during weekends and 200-220ms on other days.

My latency is fine 24/7.

I'm finding that starting from 4 or 5 days ago my I am only getting 100-200kb/s on my 4mbit line which is definately syncing properly. Direct downloads or not.

Are they shaping on weekends now?

I am also having big issues with speed, especially over weekends. However, it appears not to be ISP related, but rather Telkom line / exchange related in my area. I have had the Telkom Techs out and it has been confirmed by them, well in my area anyway. According to them my area is under provisioned, and as more people use their ADSL over weekends, the worse my speed will get.
