Weekend load shedding schedule: Eskom

How does this work - i recall in summer - power usage / forcast was in the 18000 region, now suddenly we are in the 30k region (winter), yet - we have all this capacity, surely we shouldn't have been load shedded in summer? what am i missing?

That loadshedding is completely arbitrary and eishkom just wants more money.

Yip bye guys but buy a couple hundred thousand extra tickets and take some criminals with you so we can enjoy our beautiful country in peace.

The ANC tribe members wont fall for that, and they are at the root of all the misery in SA.

Why was my post deleted? If he can and wants to go then just leave. Ne need to brag about it on the forum. Sick and tired of people taking the easy way out and then bragging about it... Sure I was harsh but no need to report me. Some people are stuck in this country and have no where else to go trying to make the best of things.
Support Western Cape Independence!
Bloody joke. What independence? What did the DA say during all the vandalizing of the statues? Exactly! Nothing. Gave you nothing because you still want to leave. FFS. Merrim Zille was voted out because she was too white now are we to assume we are also too white to vote for the DA?

Still think that there is huge opportunity in Africa.......

I ain't going nowhere...... but will encourage the offspring to go and study in the UK or OZ!

Like somebody said elsewhere on this forum, you gotta have a pair of balls to live in Africa..... and last time I checked.... I do!

Maybe, but it will always come with significant risk. Not only financial risk...

I see that as an attempt to make light of the situation, while in the meantime it is a ****ing TRAGEDY. It could be so incredibly good, but it is so full of misery and evil.

You're always welcome to ignore his posts. I'm also sad that I'm stuck here but I won't be a dick to people who admit that they're able to get out. That's just petty.

You do know what life is not a giving and has risk. You can die tomorrow. Moving to another country is also a risk...

The people that leave don't have balls. When the going gets tough they chicken out.

When in a 12 month period you get burgled 4 times, mugged once and almost mugged another time, it gets hard to 'have balls.' That's pretty much my past 12 months, and this is in Stellenbosch which is still considered relatively safe compared to other areas.

I don't blame people who want to get out at all. It's easy for people to say that emmigrating is the easy way out when they're not the ones who are down about R50k worth of property. People need to look to the future and things in SA are definitely not improving. If people can give their children better lives elsewhere, I say they really should. I definitely don't want to raise kids here with things getting this bad.

Really don't understand this mentality. I just want to live a safe, happy and productive life. If I don't think my current environment is conductive to that, why not try somewhere else? There are no prizes handed out for staying here, and none for doing well in another country. At the end of the day everybody just wants to look out for their family

If you want to a have a ball measuring contest about who can survive the worst conditions, people in Iraq , Somalia, and Libya already have you beat. SA is nowhere near as bad as them, but doesn't mean I want to live in sub-average conditions

Not to be rude but that means you are lax or don't have good security or both. They only ever stolen stuff out of my car by breaking the back window because I left an electronic device, that they perceived to be worth a lot, on the back seat in open view. Sure my parents were burgled 3 times this last year but that was also because they got lax. They didn't have proper security and only went to to the holiday home once every month and later once every three months...

If I had kids, or a wife or gf for that matter, we would be gone within months. For some reason I am sticking around on my own and trying to scratch out an existence in this mess.

I'm the other way. Family ties on my wife's side. If it were just me I'd be gone.

Are you seriously going to use victim blaming as an excuse here? Yes, I could have taken better measures to prevent it, but do you not understand that some people simply do not want to live in a country where you always have to go to extraordinary measures to prevent crime?

Some people just don't want to live with the stress of wondering whether they locked every single door and window in their house, put on the alarm and electric fence and closed the gate when they just want to drive 2km to the shop in the evening.

His post caught me in a not so good moment. I apologize @Petec

All good man. Appreciated. It's just that I have young kids. All I want is the best for them. When/if you get kids, you will do everything possible for them. It's our jobs to be bossed around by the little buggers :)
