Absolutely nothing has changed at Eskom. Even with Andre de Ruyter. He is just another pawn of the ANC.

So what this report is actually stating.............
Higher tariffs will be introduced because the loadshedding will cause loss of revenue for Eskom.
This is truly a pathetic ANC business model. It is the same way they are running the country. The tax base is getting smaller but they are increasing taxes to support the lazy, useless, stupid, freeloaders.

If I'm not mistaken the preliminary assessments have already been done for that solution regarding connecting to infrastructure from x & y locations.

I'd assume some environmental aspects would be part of their brief to ensure faster commitments however I cannot recall viewing anything on this.

A Turkish company offered ships and they were rejected.

At the moment there are 28 tenders submitted and on the table for the government’s emergency power programme which aims to generate an additional 2GW by the end of next year.

The 28 tenders total 4 GW and preferred bidders will be notified in February for construction at the chosen sites to start around Easter time.

Note this is a government scheme, not Eskom.

Eskom themselves have other plans on the table for battery storage systems at existing wind and solar sites which are planned to add a further 1.5GW to the grid also by the end of next year.

I'm sure there are many grand tenders being "scrutinised" for a solution that will take 10 - 50 years of construction.

I've heard how the transparency of ordering & receiving said service may be an "issue" in "efficiency".

Add another 10 years due to work stoppages from strikes demanding increased pay, involving the local mafia business community forum, disagreements about foreigners and outsourcing, and finally non-payment/change of service providers.

I give it six months tops before there is a news report about stolen batteries, the first two months probably has too much fanfare to try steal without getting caught.
