Weight Loss Thread 2014

Is the double fat ok to eat? Had a look at Woolworths the other day and the carb content still seemed quite high. Fat's adequate, though.

the double cream Greek is [-]7g[/-]5.8/100g glycaemic carbs, so it's not low, you'd just have to factor it into your target intake

Feel pretty good actually... this now after the jog.

yes but you're using low fat yoghurt which is loaded with sugar

anything low-fat/no-fat has been loaded with sugar to counter how crap it tastes without fat, you need to use full fat or double fat yoghurt
It only contains artificial sugar. :)
For the flapjacks we use the no fat no sugar kind.

Is there any alcohol one can drink?
If not I'll probably not be able to make this a lifestyle :)

Whisky, followed by red wine, followed by white - from what I've found online.

this^

although most of your neat alcohols are okay depending what you use as a mixer, beers (even Lite ones Kornyboy) are not so good

Yeah I know the lite/light beers are not good but I don't really enjoy whiskey etc so it is my treat :)

I think this happens a lot, any of your GP's told you that this diet is bad for your health?

One question for you guys. Generally I see people are making progress which is great to see, but are any of you actually following a caloric goal per day etc?

Curious about this.

in short chasing calories is a waste of time

I will respectfully disagree from an athletic point of view. I train heavy and following a structured nutritional plan - whether that is LCHF, atkins, wtc - reaps MUCH better rewards and than just going on feel. Specially where protein consumption is concerned.

For someone not into a solid training routine I can definitely agree with you though as most people tend to under eat. Some however like to pack it away - for those people irrespective of what plan they follow, consuming excess calories will lead to weight gain.
