Weight Loss Thread 2014

I have become more and more fascinated with how well LCHF works and the science behind it. I wanted to be a part of this thread so post 1 was the only place to start :)

Might just do that!

GOTTA love LCHF. Last week at this time I would've eaten 2x Mcdonalds chicken McMuffin's on my way to work and would already be looking for my next fix.

Currently sitting with fresh egg mayo, grated cheese and mini pork sausages in the work fridge with fresh cabanossi in my desk drawer and I have not touched any of it - JUST. NOT. HUNGRY!

That is the thing about LCHF, you dont spend all of your time being hungry.
I have never been able to diet before because I cant handle being hungry all the time.

Lol ok thank you!! I picked up some kgs since not smoking - btw 5 months smoke free also :)

Have never enjoyed fruit and veg much to my mother's and now wife's irritation.

Had a bad week this past one - 4 slices of bread, a samosa and a bowl of trifle managed to worm their way into my mouth and on top of that, I exercised way less (injured myself like). Luckily, only 1kg up and another 1cm down on all the measurements, whew :) Thank you LCHF for letting my body adapt to cheating so well, heh.

Even if you dont like them I would recommend them, otherwise you are going to need to take in a ton of oils or a fibre supplement.
Making a change to LCHF often results in constipation if you dont get enough oils or fibre from vegetables/salads etc.

Just a quick tip, the top spar in Gonubie(the quickspar) has massive packs of bacon for R59 they are easily a kg each and its really good bacon. for some random reason its not with the other bacon but in the middle of the pork fillets.

it's about finding what works for you, I sometimes have up to 75% fat in a meal, e.g. breakfast where I supplement bacon and eggs with a full fat coffee

basic guideline is that if you feel hungry soon after a meal then you're not getting enough

Hi

I've been doing some LCHF on my own before reading this thread.
I have lost weight but now my cholesterol is up. How does this compute?

I did LCHF for 10 weeks earlier this year without any constipation issues. I just have no urge to eat vegetables - been like that my whole life. I eat enough eggs to make up for the loss in nutrients :)

Thanks - I think I have seen them hidden away on the RHS next to the vacuum packed gammon steaks - another favourite of mine to fry up - that fridge has great value for money when it comes to pork products.

For people in Pretoria.

The Eskort factory store in Silverton sells 1kg bacon for R49.00

We go and stock up there every 2nd week.
